Ah, yeah...I think when I started I tentatively subscribed to some arbitrary expectation of level progression per chapter. I expect that applied to the full party, but I didn't really know any better and I've been surviving thus far. I suppose now would be the time to do it. I actually just finished the next boss, so only a handful of encounters left.

***** Well, if you don't NEED it, it's OK, you know. It's just so easy and quick to get those last few levels that pretty much every player does it.
