Thank you - I purchased mine a decade ago and the directions are of no help. I never would have figured it out - thanks!

I've watched this instructional video every time I do square type bends. I've decided to print off your set up and laminate it and post it next to my bender, just for the screwed up way it has to be set-up! I saw, on another fellow's video, where he removed all the wire handles and painted the pins and 90 degree attachment, FIRE ENGINE RED, so I did that. It helped things. Then I made a rack and welded it to the left side of the column, to hold the various pins and other attachments. Then I found a machine shop that would make some more bending dies, and started at 3 1/2" and went up to 6" diameter and removed tge rack from its original location, and put it in the front and the big rack on the side where the little rack was and a pin on the back side to hang the handle when not being used. Then I welded a piece if square tubing at a bit of an angle, as a receiver and gave a slip out rack 4' long to adjust the level of the stock, when using a long stick. Hopefully you can utilize this info to beef-up yours.

Thanks, I have extensively used one of these HF benders for 12- 15 years. Absolutely an indispensable and fabulous shop tool for DIY builders/welders. The soft metal stock pins with my unit rapidly bent with use and I replaced them with grade 8 hitch pins from commercial suppliers. However, the 90 degree strap metal bender was a mystery to me. I could set up the others bends and dies in a flash, but not that one. Thanks for the informative video!

Great description and visual aid on how to setup and use the right angle bending attachment block. The instructions from Harbor Freight do show the first step in installing the block, but another picture would have helped to show the block installed. The instructions do not show proper use of the handle hole and die setup and that is where I was absolutely lost. Your video provided that answer. I am still wondering why it is called a "right angle" attachment since it bends way past 90 degrees and cannot be considered a stop for sure.

I SURE DO WANT YOU TO KNOW, I APPRECIATE THAT VIDEO!!! You're absoputely correct! The instructions were less than vague!!! I must have stuck that wedge in there 50 ways. I actually came to figure, that they had put that wedge piece in there by mistrake!!!😄 By you setting it up, now I see how it goes. I like my Harbor Freight Bender...it was just learning how far to leave the stock sticking out and how much it was going to drag in there with it, when it made a bend! There wasn't a shred of info in the instructions to tell me any of that! I appreciate you, young man!!!

I have basically the same bender sold by KAKA Industrial (model MUB-1). The flat die on mine did not contact the fulcrum pin when I set it up as you demonstrated. It also shipped with 3 long pins (no short pin included) so I will need to modify one. Has anyone else encountered this issue and is there an alternate setup for this manufacturer?
@youtubetrucker82034 жыл бұрын
That little hole on the arm I use it to insert the small stop that comes with the kit. I place it upside down under the stationary arm and sandwiched by the swing arm in order to stabilize the swing arm and keep it from rising and interfering with the block or the 90 degree angle die.

I'm concerned about mounting this. I saw a video where it was clamped (could be bolted) to a pallet. What do you think?
@JCMakerspace3 жыл бұрын
I have mine mounted using red head drop in anchors. I used 1/2 by 13 thread and used the appropriate anchor epoxy to help secure the anchors. www.redheadanchoring.com/products/drop-in-anchor. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmfIdoGJnt2ib5Y I would not recommend clamping or bolting this to a pallet. With the forces required to bend metal the bender needs to be mounted securely. I chose these anchors so I could unbolt and store the bender out of the way when I wasn't using it. I cut and used some all thread and cut a slot in one end to use as a plug to keep dirt building up in the anchors. And the plugs are flush to the floor so they are not a tripping hazard.
