It looks like Bari has improved a bit since I was there 20 years ago. Back then, it was quite gritty, and I felt most area I walked through were kind of sketchy (as a woman alone). But even back then, it was a great hub for excursions out to the neighbouring towns and villages. I found the local dialect challenging.

I was quite surprised by Bari, really enjoyed the atmosphere even during the off season. I would definitely return sometime when it's busier.
