Something like this happened to my Dad back in the 80's with a Bank. The Current Bank Staff refused to help my Father with a Banking Transaction. A couple weeks later Dad and his Attorneys walked in again. Only this time everyone but the few, were Fired and Replaced on sight. No Severance Pay, just Plain Fired. Dad had Bought the Bank.

Back when I had my own small business (1979 to 2001) I remember seeing a bearded man pull up on a motorcycle. He came inside and made an order (printing business, not a coffee shop). He turned out to be one of my favorite customers. He was a pediatric doctor. I quickly realized that my first impression was "colored" by the motorcycle. I didn't make much money as a business owner but I still miss the daily contact with my customers.

I worked for a 2-screen Cinema complex during my senior year in high school. Just outside of Detroit, most of the other male employees were either in gangs or associated with them. And the concession stand girls weren't much better. One weekend, the Assistant Manager disappeared with the weekend box office cash. Three days later, all of the employees were called in for a meeting. Two men in suits were standing in the waiting area as we assembled. Mr. "T", was tall and slender with a very pronounced Southern accent. Mr. "S", was a short, muscular, broad-shouldered red-head with a very decided Boston twang and an aura of menace about him that made all of us stand clear. Unlike Brian, they had all of the male employees stand in a line and Mr. T walked down the line, handing out final paychecks to all but three of us. No explanation, and definitely no second chances. Same thing with the girls. The video brought back to mind that day and the memory of that so very scary redheaded "muscle".

Brian should've addressed the workers that they are not to show partiality or bias to anyone, even when their own personal beliefs and/or political affiliation are different than their customers. It should not matter when people wear MAGA regalia, including (even tho it pains me to admit it) LGBTQ colors/logos, etc.. I do believe the staff are responsible for maintaining order and therefore should take a stand --in a professional manner that starts off congenial to being firm-- should a customer(s) not comply with request to leave the premises when a disturbance or fight arises. In the story, I was hoping the suits would have walked over to where Brian was sitting and begin discussing things in a way that would create unease & concern among the mentioned workers, but alas that did not come about.

Brian needs to teach coffee boy respect by taking him back to the start and the start is making sure the floor and bathrooms are immaculately clean. Once he masters that he can move up to cleaning chairs and table while interacting with customers in a friendly manner. Once he masters that he can start to learn how to make good coffee. Then he can serve customers again. This process shouldn’t take more than Bout 9 months
