That's why this is an ART FORM and not just random forcing, bellowing and screaming. Giacomini KNEW his technique perfectly...and vocal perfection was the result. On this particular night, he was simply astounding. He always sang well, but this is simply amazing singing.

@@Alexmeister25 He has the sound or fullness of dramatic tenor, but voices can be very deceptive he had a medium sized voice. But then again a lot of heldentenors also had medium sized voices. It is certainly not small, however, someone like Corelli for example definitely had a quite bigger voice. But would not really guess that form just listening to a recording. But Giacomini is great he should be be better known. He had one of the last tenor voices that was really meant for heavy repertoire.
@newtvanzanderfroggen22388 ай бұрын
A medium size voice? I heard him sing Cavaradossi in person, in rehearsals and live performances at Lyric Opera of Chicago in 1989, from the stage, wings, and various locations of the house, both main floor and balcony. If that was a medium sized voice, then I've never heard a cannon.

Its not just the "Squillo", or the Dramatic voice, or the amazing high note, but it is the weight and power that he produces while singing those amazing ringing high notes!!! We have all heard great high notes before, but not with so much heavy power that this man produces. Go listen to Vickers, Del Monaco, and Correli. They were all powerful and had full ringing voices in there prime, but this guy has some shock wave behind his notes that could blow you out of the theater!!

finally somebody knows it right! unfortunately because of the people lack of knowledge think what and how he performs are wrong by giving crappy non-sense reasons. It's just ridiculous because like you mentioned, that power and all that are what he has. he's not making that sound artificially but rather just doing it simply but many people don't know that because they don't have what he has so they would never understand until they think, consider, study and anaylise it properly. anyways well said jpower316!

Grazie
