You could also punch two grommets in the retention strap and knot in a small length of shock cord so when unsnap the sheath the retention strap pulls out of the way on its own .

That Osage is nice. How do they compare in use to the Macv Sog bowie?

While the MACV is plenty capable of being a woodsmans blade it is still more of a piece of functional art as compared to the Bravo 1.5. The flat spine, contoured handle, and full tang of the Bravo lend itself better as a woodsmans tool, imho. Thanks for watching.
