Bark River Bravo III Review Part 1

Recently purchased a Bark River Bravo 3. This is what is think of it.

The strap that secures the blade in the sheath, tucks behind flap in belt loop so blade does not come into contact with it and cut into the leather.

I think I'm going to love the handle, based on how you described it. It will not slip out of my hand, which was my primary concern with the smooth finish on Bark River knives.

after saw your video I wanted one of these and all I can say it is: outstanding outstanding outstanding!!!! I understand the price put it in the high end knives but quality/price ratio is phenomenal, the knife is pratically perfect for all camping/survival situation.

I just bought the Bark River Bravo 1. Its a great high quality knife. I have grown up with being told two things; You get what you pay for and You buy cheap you buy twice.

man, I would not wrap that choil with anything. 3V is not stainless and a wrap would hold moisture and sweat next to the blade. It would rust like crazy. Use some 400/600 grit wet/dry sandpaper and round the edges of the finger choil.

I agree, I actually take my drummer and round all the edges my hand touches, makes it feel much better.

in regards to the sheath, the tightness seems to be on purpose so the sheath kind of moulds to the shape of your inserted knife as my Bravo 1 is the same. Also, the half moon cutout next to the clip is so you can fold the leather out the way so as not to cut into it when sliding in or pulling out the blade. Thanks for the review :) I am a huge fan of Bark River, I also bought the Bravo Micro First production run knife, with the new S35VN Stainless Steel. Great knife though its so small im really not sure what to use it for as yet lol :D

Grip tape works well on those glass smooth and slippery handles bark river puts on its knives. Don't get cut like I did with my Bravo 2

In my opinion, the handle its too little short and too litte large for this knife. Are you agree?

I think you actually want the Golok, has a bit longer handle. Check out clip point version.

Get the sheath wet with hot water you wont have any more problems with the latch and it'll form perfectly to the knife

I'm dissapointed with the handle...everything else is good and it's actually a better bargain that the survive! Knives GSO 10. Personally I'd go with the GSO 10

Next to my Anneversary Straight Handle Battle Mistress LE, and my Swamp Rat Rodent 9 Knife, the Bravo 3 is one of my favorites, I like it much better than my Bark River Golok, in A-2, Thanx for a great review, and continue the good work.

It's a awesome chopper the steel is top shelf and the look is great,

+BOOSTEDLASER WoW, you have one, What do you think of it, or is it too expensive to use, It will take what ever you throw at it. Infact it's a knife that you can use as a one tool optuin, Tie a long lanyard and place it over the elbow and up to your bisep, then hold it by the tip to do the fine stuff. It's a high polishrd handle but it will wear off and then you'll see you will hold it better.
