Thanks for commenting. I heard about barkey valley falls in a foot and field in San Diego and had to check it out. The video is my 4th and 5th time to the valley. Thats awesome that you camped out there and got to experience the ring tail. I've recently been into the history of Palomar and actually got to see nate harrisons cabin site I did a video on it. I have always loved the mountain it's filled with awesome places to explore and of course the history. Thanks again for commenting have an awesome day.

This was a magnificent footage of nature that you've shared for us here, with beautiful falls, the rock formations, there's church there too and the fascinating powerful telescope. A huge like at twelve, thank you very much! Have a pleasant weekend!

Nice job; some great footage! You can actually get into the canyon and the lower ponds (these have water year round). There's a trail if you stick to the left side of the cliff wall. This will lead you to a very steep trail that descends into the canyon (about a 180 feet; 60% grade with some rock scramble). It's a challenge, but the canyon is awesome, especially when it's warm!
@adventureawaits50032 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have actually done it from the bottom of the canyon as well. Just nothing to the extent of the main falls area but still fun to explore!!

I enjoyed watching your video till the end. I was amazed to watch the great stream of the waterfalls falling from the top of the mountain. Where did all the water come from? Thank you so much for sharing the great footage of your hiking. 😊
@adventureawaits50032 жыл бұрын
It comes from a natural spring and runoff after rain or snow. Thanks for checking it out 👍

Super cool! Was the trail head on the Holcomb Village side or more on the Lake Henshaw side?

Tried to go in October and got to the valley, but it was kind of a dead end. Did quite a bit if research, still couldnt find the trail to the falls
@adventureawaits5003 Жыл бұрын
Hey Danielle, sorry you didn't find it. Once you hit the stream, you're going to go downstream about a quarter mile, and you'll run into a set of different waterfalls and pools and you continue down from there and reach the largest fall. I hope that helps. Let me know if you need any more info.

Is there some sort of trail to get to the bottom?
@adventureawaits50038 ай бұрын
It's the barker valley trail and once you reach the stream there's a trail downstream steam to the waterfalls
Thank you!! been looking for this, trying to be prepared for my hike

You said its a 8 mile hike to get to the falls? How long does that take.8 miles seems long

Great video, great clips, and great time to make the adventure for somewhat rare footage of snow in San Diego. Good job! Extra credit with the attractions in the area. I used to be much more of a peak bagger and mountain scrambler in Seattle and some when I 1st moved here in late 90's, but now I always ride dirt on 2 wheels... winter is a cool time to get on foot here! This is tempting me... I bought a new pair of boots yesterday :-) Did you hike down this route to the falls that I rode on my moto (the riding up the trail starts in this link at 1:11: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXKsoX15i8upqdk
@adventureawaits50033 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Being rare It's always cool seeing snow in San Diego. I hiked down from the Barker valley trail head there was too much snow to ride but it looks the same as where you were riding. I love this area because it's so secluded and not many know about the falls even people that hike the trail. Now that you got some boots your going to have to hit the trail haha. Safe trails.
@biketothetop3 жыл бұрын
@@adventureawaits5003 Thanks for confirming route. I am sure I will never take my moto there again, but it might be cool to try it on my eMTB now, at least part way down. I know what to do next to get there. When I was there it was hot and the gorge area would not be so interesting. Was the trail overgrown now?
@adventureawaits50033 жыл бұрын
@@biketothetop the trail is not overgrown but the trail along the stream is definitely overgrown in some area's but not that hard to navigate. That would definitely be fun with the EMtb.
@biketothetop3 жыл бұрын
@@adventureawaits5003 Thanks for intel. No problem as long as the part to the small valley is not choked, ok for bike. I subbed... I'll get a constant SD intel stream :-)
@biketothetop3 жыл бұрын
@@adventureawaits5003 It maybe too gnarly going up on eMTB, but I've done a lot of steep climbs as long as I can maintain some cadence and get moving it works. The DH would be fun, but might be painful back up :-)
