Thank you for the information. I'm late for getting it going but gonna give it a try. My biggest problem is tall pondweeds coming to the surface despite three gallons of Aqua Shade every year. 😥

I don't think that the Barley straw will have an effect on plants, it's mostly for "Green Water" algae.
