Boo-hoo. Do you want some cheese to go with your whine? If you don't want to watch another video about a Model A you are free to move along to find something else to watch. Maybe you can find Dora the Explorer, or SpongeBob to watch, or is Barney and Friends more to your liking?

You asked where people were 60 years ago , I was twenty years old and working in a Body shop . Thank you for a terrific presentation , the thirty Ford was a blast , I knew it was going to from the get go , those old fords have to have holes in the block before they stop running . God Bless You , MoJo , And Duff Dog , Your Families and others who help out from time to time . A faithful follower , Stuart in Canada..

Hey Ho! for all you kids out there; before the fancy hoists they used a pit, dug in the garage floor, to work on the underbody parts. The pit was just a bit narrower than the common wheel base of cars of the era. The pit was long enough that you could walk down three steps from the shop to the base of the pit. It was, of course, cement walls and floor, IF the shop was high class!

I remember the workshop pits too. A mate of mine wanted to have one in his garage, but local council residential zoning regs said this wasn't allowed.....so he dug out a "wine cellar" and placed a bottle of wine in the corner of the pit in case someone checked up on it!

You know what's possibly the most under appreciated engine ever? Gm 3.8 or 3800 v6. Cheap n plentiful in junkyards. Quite durable. Only problem is adapting to rear wheel drive applications. There's a guy on KZbin has one I a chevette. Adapted to a 5 speed. He says it's the cats ass.. would make a model a body go like a house a fire. Lol

The reason that spiral sheathed cable that goes in the bottom of the distributor is there, that was Ford’s antitheft device. It went from the distributor up to the key, when the key was turned ‘on’, (it was actually a pop out key/button) the switch would ground that wire and complete the circuit through the points. Would be thieves had to work at getting through that armored wire which proved to be somewhat of a deterrent. I know that sounds goofy but that’s why Henry did it. One thing to note, occasionally the wire that runs through that armored spiral sheathing will short out inside there and will drain your battery, burn out the coil and/or prevent the car from being shut off with the key. Love the channel!

Serious side, that is a great platform to build from no matter which direction a person wants to go. Hmmmm, where was I 60 years ago? Well, I just turned into a teenager and was probably just in the 8th grade. Pretty nice old rig. With not to much it could be a runner! Hey, thanks for the ride. Better with 2nd & 3rd👍!

Mortske, back in the late 1950s one of my cousins and his dad had 8 model As, two of which were in daily driver nick. They would rotate one car every two years so they always had two fresh As to drive. They showed me that timing trick and that alone made me an instant fan! Great Video!
