This car pushes a lot of my buttons on many different levels. The cool factor is off the chart. I sure hope you decide to make it all one color. I know the raggedy rust bucket "cancer mobile" is a big fad right now, but all the rust and different colors break up it's truly awesome lines, and probably doesn't set well with the sort of people who hate stuff like this and give you grief over it, (who cares? Yes, but the types who would call it an eyesore are the types who would go behind your back and get it towed away or some despicable thing such as that. If finances don't permit a de luxe paint job, some sandpaper and primer would do wonders for it. It really is a beautiful car underneath the "patina" and one solid color would bring that out. It has a really tough kind of street rod feel to it, and it makes me think early NASCAR or a moonshiner. If it was cleaned up but not overdone, it's a really bad ass looking old Dodge. I can't stop looking at it because it gives me a weird Deja Vu that I can't quite put my finger on. That is just a righteous car.

Thank you very much, and well said. Our '62 Dart has great patina or age or rust, or whatever it's called, but it is staying as is because it looks great and we like it. On this '58 Coronet, some owner in the past destroyed the finish/paint with a DA sander and multiple colors of primer. Plan is to sand it all down, see what is left of the original paint, guessing not much, and doing a diy at home paint job to the original Charcoal Grey and Silver combo and put the trim back on.

@@cudafry1967 that ought to do it. The styling Dept at Chrysler really knocked it out of the park that year. Might as well accentuate such a fine looking body style. Can't wait to see it.

She still has that dead miss... did you change the plugs and wires? How much wear is on the points cam? Have you done a compression test? Good to see shes running and driving now. Got her going faster than i got my ford going.

Plugs and wires were new, cap/rotor and many other parts, 30 years ago, but they still were new, like it had never been run with them. We have not had a chance to take a closer look, we had a day above freezing and a short amount of time, so we could not resist taking it out for the first time.

I got a bunce of parts from a donor '69 Barracuda, going on the Valiant (video pending). Also got the complete exhaust from the same car, in 1 piece, we put it on the snowbank next to the garage as a kind of fence.

We couldn't sell her, just could not find the will to do it. Probably prematurely on the road, but gives us the opportunity to test drive when needed.

Don't think Veronica likes your daughter very much. Beware.... These can get extremely jelaous. 😀It closed the driver door with her in it. Passenger door opened in first video but not when your daughter tried it. Woops. Love it! Will be plenty of time to tinkle with it when the weather warms up. Looking forward to that. I didn't catch that, the door not opening for her. She caught the door closing though, I had to rewind a few times to make sure it was not me closing the door, but I'm nowhere near it. Imagine if it slammed shut!

run two fuel filters from the gas tank 1 along the fuel rail or line from the tank 2nd(Primary) just before the carburetor until the first one or both get clogged then replace them then refill with fresh fuel that ol gal deserves a second chance on the road

She will get that second chance. There is no gas tank, it was rusted out. We are using a plastic gas container mounted at the front with a filter.

My son has the same car he pulled out of a junkyard just needs paint now .I would have never driven that car that far without a new battery. Sounds like it needs valve job take a compression check

I now know what your daughter drives. A little silver thing-ge. The test drive went well I thought. I guess it could do with a new exhaust, maybe. Was the heating working or not ? I thought I could hear some thing chattering..... May have been your daughters teeth . Has with most car's of the 50's/60's the interior was always very smart. Just like the camera girl. Hahaha.

Didn't try the heat. I believe the chattering was the speedo, which is why I didn't want to go too fast as it chattered more the faster we went, don't want to mess that up until we have a chance to take it apart and see what's going on.
