Phase one of chrome looks great! Just be thankful that you will only have about half of what is in a 58 to 66 Cadillac. One of those would put you in the poor house for sure. I have always enjoyed dissecting and reverse engineering parts as you go to work on them. As you discovered using a socket to press out the taillight bulb housing is one I would not have imagined. The handle knob with any luck is just attached with a screw. Although I have seen them with a press fit stem to the handle main body, and then a small sir clip holds the knob to the stem. This allows for the knob to spin as needed. It was up to the bean counters to determine which one. Keep up the great work. Every drop of blood, sweat and tears, along with all the hours and $$$$$$ will eventually unveil your diamond from the rough!😊😊😊😊😊

Thanks Charles! You're right we are glad it's not a Cadillac lol This has been an interesting project for us as neither of us have worked on any from this period. We look forward to the reassembly when it starts to look like it did in 63'.

All the pieces are there, usually when someone took parts off they tend to take the rare and most selling pieces first and leave the rest. The parts that have corrosion or oxidation damage don't look bad at all, personally seen way worse. Don't think Ford date stamped all the parts they made? Headlight rings look very good, usually that is one piece that get's smashed up. One other thing I noticed was all the badges are intact not broken into million pieces.

One of the reasons we bought the car was because it appeared to be all there. Unfortunately most of the parts require refurbishing but you are correct they are still within that state. Most of the parts we've taken off are date stamped but we'll pay attention and see if you're correct. Thanks for your reply!
