Great to see that youve saved it,keep us informed on the progress of restoration.Far too many have been smashed or scrapped.Father had loads back in the 70s & 80s so they hold great memories for me.

Yes, it will be saved. Will be on my other channel. OLD SKULL GARAGE - BUILD IT. I've just been chatting with a body guy today. Hopefully, the next few weeks, he can start on the rust repair. I will get it reupholstered, and I will try to repainted to the original colour. I think that colour suits that car with a nice set of rims 😊

Those old Triumph engines are basically bullet proof. The body rust will be the challenge!

There is a inhibitor switch on the gearbox, most likely the reason it wouldn't turn over initially. Good luck.
@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShowКүн бұрын
I guess that was probably stuck or something. Stopping it from turning over. Luckily, after some fiddling, he was turning over. Thanks, I do my best to make it a nice cruiser 👍😊

old engines are the best this modern day crap won't work after this length of time
@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShowКүн бұрын
You are absolutely right. These are simple engineering. After so many years, just needed a battery and fuel. That's it. Okay carbs need to be cleaned. But that's it..
@garycorbin6252 күн бұрын
Id would have pressurised the tank by using a bunch of rags plugging the filler hole and using my compressor and airgun fill it with air , the pressure should force fuel up to the carbs without straining the motor .
@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShow2 күн бұрын
That's a good idea. But this time, I haven't had any of it. Hopefully, next time, I will be more geared up 😊

Carbs vaccum leaks down a cylinder?
@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShowКүн бұрын
I'm not sure. Probably. All the rubber pipes are extremely rigid. I will replace all of them soon. Obviously, this time, I just want to make sure it starts up.

1000 quid ...... its worth approx 200 at best. They never really reached collector status. Had 2 ..... the 2000 and the 2.5 with the overdrive gearbox.

I think that was a long time ago when they were worth £200. I do like all the paperwork to come with the car. There are bad spots on it. But also a lot of good things about. I am going to try to save it .
