I worked on the tunnels under the longbridge plant which was used to make ammunition during the second world wars so much old items still there from that time

Any idea what the year range would be for that style of Austin. Someone said 1951 was the last year for making Austins like that before getting restyled.

The 1948 Studebaker, the 30/31 Model A that were complete, the Austin! Wow! Lincoln 2dr contie coupe I think was a good deal for sure! maybe the jeepster, the black 2dr Plymouth, the Marlin, would be if not priced so high. Not sure the value of the airflow. Parts just are not everywhere for them. And the toy collection! I would have come home with something for sure! I love your stubbornness with the tire tube! It paid off! Your wooden carved toy cars also great finds.

That green 2 door Chevy looked to be in excellent shape. My Dad had one back in 1956 that looked just like it. We went from Northern Minnesota to the Black Hills and back. That was a big trip for our family of 6.

i was once a part of a auction. spent 5 years in a oils mans basement, 20 miles each way ,building him a model railroad in o scale. when it was done very very shortly after mr w left this world. i was asked to oversee the sale of that rr during auction and answer questions for folks. when i was told by auction person this one and this one work for us. it felt like i was hit in stomach and i never done another auction. crooks and crooks and oh did i say crooks

Austin A40 built between 1947 and 1952 longbridge Birmingham uk . I worked at the regeneration of the old longbridge plant which was used to make ammunition underground for the second world war

Hi, talking about that Austin, I built my first Hot Rod from the same model Austin chassis and running gear but dropped a channelled For Pop body on the chassis and it ended up being Jaguar powered/ had to sell it unfinished as I was still living at Mum & dads place, so a guy named Russ Ward bought It and finished it, used it on the road and drag raced it weekends, must have been about 1965, a long time ago, but as a paper boy money earned from my route bought HOT ROD magazine in the early 1960`s so it where I got my ideas from..Thanks for the video -- Ian.. I can't hate on a modified car, especially if it's from its own era. If that jeep was lifted on big spinner rims and it had a Fast and the Furious paint job it would be a shame. But as it sits it's a well loved vehicle that would have probably rotted into the ground if it wasn't kept after by someone who made it their own.

Makes me want to move to the midwest to grab all those deals. Here in Arizona if it exists it's and is a barn find like the Austin it's 20K. Ridiculous prices. Model A's here thanks to the California coast nearby sell for 15 to 20K for an unrestored one. A new suburban here averages 75K. The same one in Montana where my buddy lives is 20K less due to less demand.

A Austin in restored and excellent condition is worth 15,000 dollars but to get it that way, will cost you 3 or 4 times that. A Buick Century convertible from 1940, restored is worth 50,000 dollars, even if it costs twice that it's worth it because you have a real car afterward.

It just amazes me that what was junk when it was made like a waterfall bedroom set, is now considered a collector item, the same with Fords before 1955 and Austins of any year. Pure junk and basic transportation, the next best thing to walking. The same with Crosleys, they made a good radio.

@@ernielaw I know Austins were made in England but Bantam motors, who was the inventor of the Jeep made Austins in Butler. There are a few pristine ones here at car local car shows. I went for a ride in one once. It was so small I didnt want to go again. 😄

Sure, they’re called demountable rims. 4 or 5 bolts and keepers and the rim slide off the wheel. I’ve got four of them on my Model T.

Then turn the rim enough to line the valve stem up with the hole in the wheel. Look at 41:49. They’re demountable rims.
