Like the master violin maker in the story of the old violin it's the "touch of the masters hands" here that revived the old Johnson I had a goal post moment when Terry ran the RF up to a 100 watt level the old Johnson was boiling water and making RF again!!! WOW love it Terry you rock buddy always a good time in your videos!!

Curious, why ditch the 866 rectifiers?

The old 866's are notorious for failure. When they fail, the HV transformer can be damaged. The 3B28 is a much more robust tube, inexpensive and does not contain mercury.
