Our librarian used to go to similar events. She would've been one of those with suit cases. Some were restricted to librarians, some were open, and some were formal conferences Anyway, my friends group would be given ARCs fkr and other books for helping screen all the books she would have stacked in the back. And since this was 2002-2005, I was the only anime/manga fan and got all the mangas to screen. Lol. I also pretty much built the manga section until I was joined in 2004.

I went to barnes and nobles for first time today (im a tourist in nyc). And it was so miserable and bland 😭 the book covers had a weird grainy, course texture. And they were all floppy and felt flimsy and cheap. Plus the average book was $18. Wtaf. How are u guys living???? A hardcover was $30 and i found it for less than half the price on amazon in my country

I heard about it through the barnes and noble union square marketing/event emails! I think they do it every year! they announced it in early February (I think!), so about a month in advance before it actually happened!
