In this video we demonstrate how to disassemble (and reassemble) the housing mechanisms holding the front wheels of an Uppababy Vista. This process is a necessary part oflubricating, realigning or replacing parts asscociated with repairing many problems that might occur with your front wheels such as: loose front wheels as a result of faulty / broken ball bearings, wheels not locking in place, wobbly wheels as a result of defects in multiple components, defective or stuck swivel lock etc.

I cannot thank author enough for this video. I'm from Europe and we don't have any support for this stroller, so DIY is the only way. Was able to replace ball bearnings for the stroller

Brilliant. Watched this before getting to work so had the magnet on order from Amazon. Arrived today and I've sorted both mechanisms on the wheel locks in < 20 mins and they're working beautifully. We picked up a 2015 model used which was in excellent condition bar the wheel locks. Cleaned out all the grit and dirt with a small paint brush, silicone sprayed it all up and put it back together. Tights as drum, like new! 👍

Incredibly helpful video - I know I’m late, but I’m having an issue with the wheel locking mechanism on one wheel. A few days ago the grey button got stuck in the down position and permanently locked the wheel. I opened up the housing mechanism but haven’t figured out what’s wrong with the spring loaded mechanism because it’s still not working.

Hello, I was wondering if I can disassemble the mechanism while the rusted wheel is still attached? I cannot get them to come off, I followed your other video and it didn’t work, I hit the shaft so hard the front of the frame detached. Any advice?

Try spraying some wd40 around the pin first and let it soak a bit before trying the magnet. This specific part is so stupidly designed, imo :)

The Stroller Workshop no luck!! I’ve tried on two different frames and on both sides and it’s stuck on both! Has that ever happened to you? And yes, a lot of the inner workings of the wheel assembly are infuriatingly designed. It’s like they don’t want us repairing them at all!

Does anyone know where to get replacement parts for both the locking mechanism and that white plastic thing? The wheel keeps wobbling and sometimes falls out and it definitely looks worn. Can't find that part anywhere online. Maybe it's a 3D print job or something?

No, unfortunately. I would try using wave washers for a DIY fix , like those seen in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioGUfKaIi9ihiLM Otherwise contact Uppababy, they're one of the few manufacturers with their own 'tune-up' workshops. :)

Great help, noticing wobble and cleaned all parts, was thinking some plumber tape around the notch in the wheel , then try the washer.

Thank you so much for this video. While removing one the wheel, the small ball bearings all came out. From what I can see in your video, you have 2x sealed bearings - is it normal that the 2015 model bearings are not sealed? Can I replace them by sealed bearings?

If the balls fell out, it just means the bearings are busted. Yes, use sealed bearings :)

@@BarnevognverkstedNo cool! I am now at the step of removing the magnet but no luck .. I bought a strong magnet from amazon, the magnet looked stuck but I can't get it out.. any clue on how I can get it out to replace the bearings?

@@Deep0623 what I just did was turn the stroller on its side so the pin is facing down and lightly tapped on the wheel housing with a hammer. The pin will hopeful start working its way out.

Most stroller parts are tricky if you can't get them from the manufacturer. Your choices are really either a 3d printing service or purchasing a used chassis on ebay / craig's list etc.

I want to replace the ball bearings on my 2015 Vista. What is the size of the ball bearing? Is it something that I could just get at a hardware store or online; or Uppababy specific? Is it the same size bearing on the front and back wheels? Great videos! Thanks for the assistance!

Hi, I don't have an uppababy in right now to check for you unfortunately, but you can most likely order them directly from Uppababy. Otherwise take what's left of the bearings to a skateboard shop and they can probably order you the right size :)
