I had the pleasure hearing and meeting my guitar idols Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis and Charlie Byrd after a show in Georgetown. 25 years later, they still are some of my favorite guitarists. Awesome, thanks for posting !

Excellent film. Barnet Kessel was a true master of his instrument, as was the superb Stan Levey on drums, who played so tight and precise, never trying to upstage anyone.

Barney was the chord-melody guitarist par excellence. No one could touch him particularly in the Swing era. Check out his series of albums : THE POLL WINNERS with Ray Brown on Bass and Shelly Manne on drums.

Think again, you live in a time that allow you hear any recorded song in the history, and watch every frame recorded of these wonderful musicians of the last century. I'm not saying that music nowadays isn't shit, cause it is, but you must consider that Barney Kessel played this 55 years ago for a few lucky guys, and this was pratically forgotten for all this years, and now it is here, free for the all world watch. Think this way, and maybe you realize that this is the best era for who love music.

Barney was the best of the best came to Sydney on two or three occasions, the first was with Charlie Bird and Herb Ellis, the second at Kiama south coast of NSW as it was poring cats and dogs in Kiama he kicked off with That Rainy Day, very humorous, at breakfast the next morning he autographed one of my records, a true gentleman.

OMG! Seems yesterday. In 1930's i lived in Brooklin. At that time, me and my friends, we usually spend the nights at the famous Dinky Donky Skbadaboob Da Boob Dabidubidi Dubidi Da Da Da Dinah's palace. Better know as DDSDBDDDDD, or for the real intimate customers, only Dinki. A hidden cubbyhole on the 56Th avenue. Famous artists usually performed there, people like Armostrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Korn, Iron Maiden, Etta James, Eminem, The Beatles, N.W.A., Bad Bunny, Travis Scott and many others. That's used to be the best place where we secretly drank whiskey. You know what i mean? Prohibition and stuff. Forget about it, we usually sayin' as Italians Immigrants. What a wonderful time of my life!
