Barnstaple parkrun | Moving house, exploring new parkruns, first run in a week! | parkrun Episode 11

After a week of shifting boxes, scrubbing floors and just about everything in our new home, parkrun was the perfect remedy to shake off the cobwebs and get back running! Our first time at Barnstaple parkrun, and what a parkrun it is! 2 and half flat laps around a picturesque park and alongside an estuary. What more could you ask for at 9am on a Saturday morning?

Parking is plentiful at the school and free 👍 The start has moved in the last few weeks to avoid running in that field with all the rain we’ve had. It’s now on the top path, running beside the river. Still no problem with space though ☺️ Might see you there this Saturday - thanks for watching.

Live in Cornwall not far from the coastpath hope to help ARC runners later this month from my little camper van , hand warmers hot drinks , and a few pop noodle type meals , had a hunt till I found a couple with the V for Vegan

Splendid video as usual Lee! Loving the drone footage you've started to incorporate too, makes you appreciate how beautiful Devon is! Good luck with the house cleaning, saw your post on fb with the bird's nest chimney... looked hellish! I'm really impressed how you manage to keep up this output on your channel with everything else you have going on!! Dedication mate! I struggle to make a video once a month and that's just a static camera pointed at me noggin! Cheers!

Thanks John! Good to hear from you old boy. It’s a lot of graft to get a couple of videos out a week but I’m enjoying the process. Fortunately, moving away from the moors means I can get the drone in the air more often, and capture all this stunning scenery. The house we’ve just moved into is a lovely little place, just hasn’t been looked after for about a decade. Will be amazing once we’ve finished but it’s a matter of a few years I think.

Re your Glycerin 19's: I run in Ghost and Glycerin and have found little difference. Pound for pound the Ghost is better value and lasts just as long as the Glycerin in my experience. It is also impossible to tell the difference when running in my opinion. Did you know that apparently the Ghost 14 is supposed to be carbon neutral in it's manufacture? I have read this but not verified it yet.

That's really interesting - I've never run in the Ghost but they both seem like really versatile shoes. I picked up the G19s originally as I was looking for a pair of shoes that could handle long runs comfortably, and I think the Ghost is pegged as more of a 'do it all' kind of shoe? I'd love it if the Ghosts were carbon neutral - this wasn't on any shoe manufacturer's radars when I started running and to see such a popular model making this step is a really positive sign.
