Can you please make a video where you compare the volume of the Garmin Instinct 2x with the Casio Pro-Trek? The system sounds of the Instinct 2x Solar Tactical are so extremely quiet that you can't hear the alarm of the watch, even if the watch is only two rooms away on the table, all doors are open and everything is quiet in the apartment, no radio and no TV is running. Does Casio now have a successor to the Rangeman B1000? As far as I know, this is the only Casio watch with a stand-alone navigation system that is comparable to the Garmin watch. As far as I know, the Casio Rangeman B1000 is unfortunately no longer produced. While I was satisfied with the Instinct 2 Solar Tactical, where the system sounds were also quite quiet, but significantly louder than on the Instinct 2x Solar Tactical, where there were no Bluetooth disconnects and everything worked reliably, it's the exact opposite on the Instinct 2x Solar Tactical. And Garmin no longer seems to release updates for the Instinct 2x. At least support said that the software for the Instinct 2 is being developed further, but nothing is planned for the Instinct 2x. Just disappointing!

The Casio Alarm is much louder than the Garmin. Timex is even louder than both. Here is a video where I compare it on the 2X vs. Casio G-Shock, this should give you a pretty good comparison. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h57MqX95jcufmdk

Hello, I am torn between a Garmin watch and a Casio watch. Can I have an endless battery if I only use the ABC features of this watch? And can I charge this watch with solar energy if I turn off all energy-consuming modes? garmin instinct x2 solar I'm thinking of buying a tactical or casio mudman gw9500

Even if you turn off every function of the Garmin Instinct 2X watch and just run it in battery saver mode (meaning all you pretty much have is time displaying on the watch face) you will still at some point need to pull out the charge cord and charge the watch. Granted it might be 6 months or longer but eventually the charge cord will be needed. I actually just got the GW9500 and hope to be doing some videos in the future so keep an eye on my channel. Casio is better from a hardware standpoint. . . Garmin is better from a software standpoint. I feel like you get a lot more bang for your buck with the Garmin, however I also feel like it has tons of features that I personally don't use and thus I like the simplicity of the Casio. Flashlight on the 2X is awesome! Can't go wrong with either both are awesome, good luck!

Curious as to what one would be considered more durable and long lasting use?

The Instinct has a lot more features. . . .but as far as longer lasting I would put my money on the Casio everyday of the week. The Garmin's battery eventually loses it's charge capacity (just like a cell phone, etc.) over the years. . . . the Casio will still be the same after 10-15 years easy.

I thought the Garmin is only solar assist whereas the Casio is tough solar. Is this true?

It depends. . . . both "technically" are supposed to run forever assuming you get enough light and depending on the features you use. If you turned off all the features of the Garmin (no cell phone connection, activity tracking, notifications, vibration, auto backlight, GPS, etc. it would go a long time with out needing the charge cord. . . maybe forever depending on the light it is getting). But you are right the with normal feature use on the Garmin you will have to pull out your charge cord at some point (mine about every 30 days) vs. the Casio that no charge cord can be used at all.

@@WatchJumble Thank you for the reply. Good points. I guess with the Garmin, it’s all or nothing for me. I still have my original Instinct solar and although I don’t wear it all the time anymore, I still only have have to charge it once a week (maybe a day or two less three years later).

Instinct 2x is unlimited with solar (oficial specs). On Garmin the baro resolution is 0.1 hPa. On Casio is 1 hPa. On Garmin you can set the pressure manually, and also the sea level pressure. On Casio I think it's only the station pressure. Garmin is just better. :)
