I suggest organising stockpiles by designating every single one to a different resource next to it, like iron next to blacksmiths, stone next to masons and quarrys

As long as you avoid too many in a small area, that should be fine. Makes it easy to chain stockpiles of resources, too & will prevent any one fire from potentially being too costly

Baron, here is the anwser to the Grain problem. Grain is only harvested just before Winter. And your peasants eat the grain, even if it isn't bread. So you don't gain Grain until just before Winter so you Need to produce enough grain to have some for most of the year of your peasants and Bakers. When Bakers make bread it makes people happier and is more efficient. So it is normal that you don't have grain most of the Time. Your peasants eat all of it. And you reeaalllyyy don't produce enough.

Baron, when your city start too spread out turn on archer and balista job in Job Priority one year before Viking or dragon atack so this way you could save a lot of money and give them (archers) time for training and getting master.

You should, I downloaded the alpha experimental during the first video with Ai kingdoms and it is very fun and interesting how it is going along. It may have sacrificed 3 great game saves for me but it was worth it.

A market works the same as an transport kart. People bring food and charcoal and a bunch of other things to it. And the people that live in the houses near the market get al of that stuf and put it in their houses. And that makes them happy. Becaus before you placed the market the people in the houses had to go al the way to a stockpil to pick those items up. This also works with small stockpiles.

Baron, i suggest that you should build more wheat farms since you're kingdom is lacking the resource and wheat are more used in certain specifics, like for the pigs and of course for the peasants obviously, but this 2 systematically takes more wheats, and it's the reason why you're wheats depletes faster than any other food resources. Also, it's not a good idea to place you're bakeries out of reach to the households, it's better to keep them close.

Wheat is the basic food your people need, so I usually just build many wheat farm with the focus of feeding the people. only when I've sorted that out do I try building fruits and pork farms

One thing I would find interesting with this new way I update there could be a way for Viking outposts like invasions could have special Vikings that could build them on unclaimed or captured islands or You could use a setting to have them spawn on islands before you start I think it would be interesting. The reason is why you don’t have any grain is because you barely have any farms (or at least I make too many :P)

The grain is going to feed the pigs and to the taverns. Build more grain fields. Also during Viking/dragon attacks, you can click on your CHAMBER OF WAR and activate hazard pay and it will SIGNIFICANTLY buff all your military units. So be sure to have some money in the bank when an attack is imminent, and don't forget to turn off hazard pay after the attack ends. The enemies you kill will cause your villagers to be happier, thus you can TEMPORARILY bump up to the rate to offset the hazard pay. The BEST city layout has blocks of 6x6. You can put a town square or a large fountain in the center (I prefer to alternate) and surround it with manors with the occasional tavern, library, church, etc. to maximize space and happiness. You can put a "+" shape of gardens at each intersection near your residential blocks for +8 happiness. You need to get your aqueducts up and running ASAP so you can irrigate your farms, build bathhouses and all the finer things in life. You can work on walls and towers later. All you really need to fight the Vikings/dragons in the early game is a few platoons of foot soldiers and archers. Once your city has taken shape and you know where your final borders are going to be, then build walls. I've found little use for the drawbridges and seagates. I just use piers most of the time even though they're more expensive.
