Baron, you need to do these things. 1. Build a barracks, you need more infantry. 2. Keep infantry your inside the fort, if you do this, they won't be slaughtered at the beginning. 3. Hold Thermopylae. If the enemy say, destroys a wall or tower, they'll be coming at full strength through the chokepoint, so have your infantry prepared to smash any strike force. 4. Use plan Horiatis. Send one solider towards the enemy lines. The enemy, not being very smart, will group one to kill the solider. This will allow your trebuchets to do massive collateral damage.

Big tip for this game: read or watch KZbin videos on castles and castle design. You won't get many perfect tips (machicolations don't exist in this game, which is why it's a 2/10), but definitely some ideas. For example, having your main castle walled off with towers, and then having outer sections fenced off with one or two tower's, so the enemy gets stuck on the outer fences for a short while, but once the make a breech they all funnel into the one smaller area and you have a big killbox where you can smash them. That's something pretty common in the designs of large castles from the latter medieval periods. There was even an Indian fortress which was a bit like an hourglass shape, and the first section was on a low hill and the main section was on a higher hill with very steep sides, but a traversable pathway between the first and section section. Sure, the first section could fall, and it fell many times. But when assaulting the second section, that single pathway, and the extensive gatehouse giving access to the second section, was such an unbelievably effective killbox it was impossible to take the fortress without a lengthy siege. The British managed it, but they cheated by realizing you could just about climb up the sides of the hill with siege ladder's, use the ladders to ascend the walls, and quickly flood some troops into the castles bailey. Those troops would be too few in number to actually take the castle, but would be more than enough to distract the defending troop's, allowing your main force to break down the primary gate, and ascend the inner walls of the gatehouse with more siege ladder's, which would be enough troops to take the castle (admitly after a somewhat bloody fight, and the first section was a formidable fortress to be taking in itself, if not made of the strongest stone to be resisting cannon fire)

I think the best thing would be to build a sawmill in each hexagon. Then you could wall around all the boarders. Also you can build your sawmills inside your walls and the workers will go outside so they can work and are still protected.

Things to bring in to next game. - Build more foresters earlier, wood was really holding you back - Build a church when you can, so you have less worry about having enough units - Build markets sooner, they seem to boost happiness (not sure) and bring in gold, also not sure they have a unit cap. I've seen at least 8. - Less archers more, melee soldiers, archers are great but they die like wet tissue. - Also you definitely don't need to kill the wolves, just remember where they are. Very useful for defending an attack. Build around them even, funnel the enemy in lol.

Idea: wall in the wolf dens and utilize them as a defense. The moon people will break in, get distracted by the wolves, and give your archers ample time to surround them before firing and taking them out. Plus, if you kill them the sun people might not evolve doggos : /

Baron, don’t door the wolves. They are a valuable asset as they come back in numbers and hate the moon monsters, you could probably just make a sector dedicated to wolf defense with archers on the wall as additional defense.

I love this game!! I hope that they add modding support. I would love to add various units and buildings to this. Like a fire, and ice mage that you can recruit in a mage tower. Along with a cleric that heals troops during combat. Along with a gunner unit you can recruit that has high damage, range, and accuracy, but slow fire rate and move speed. As well as expensive. I forgot to mention custom banners and colors.
