Healer actually becomes a very good tank late-game thanks to CON scaling. If you focus on leveling Blocking and Polearms in the early game (easy since you can heal yourself out of any problems), it can coast through the entire game.

With the merchant I love to run them in multiplayer because I can sell equipment my friends don't need and by stuff for them even as a monster race, it makes ships possible to actually go to with out dying.

You can get 100 casting and magic with the conjurer by the dungeon floor 3 so long as you do the mines. Then, you get access to dominate and free forcebolt. Dominate is great for conjurer since it already has a high leadership stat.

I got barony recently, and I think goblin warrior is my favorite so far. Once I find enough armor, I just sit in front of a slime for blocking levels. By the time I'm in the swamp, Minotaurs already deal 0 damage to me. My best run I have a tinkering kit, a 17 dmg polearm, 2 feathers, 11 spellbooks, and half of the skills maxed. Biggest problem is inventory being full of spellbooks. Oh and there's a bug with starvation where if you have the sprig that decreases hunger equipped with no other hunger related items on, you only take damage maybe once every 30s while starving, which is much slower than natural regen. I'm talking slower than accursed skeleton damage ticks. Wonderful video btw. I think I'll try arcanist next.

Warrior Goblin is a super fun combo, I totally agree! Also, what you mentioned about the spellbooks is literally the only thing that prevents me from playing the Goblin race more than I should. I personally enjoy casting spells when I need to, and not having the ability to learn spells is something I don't like. I DO love strong any melee class is with the Goblin race though! :)

Pretty good tierlist. I would have had Shaman under OP tier and monk a bit higher up in the AI tier personally but it's not my list so meh. I'd say conjurer falls off a bit late game while mechanist excels. The ability to just insta-kill (traps) tanky units and recover a lot of the resources back is just ridiculous. Late game conjurer I have had moments where my skeletons fell off if I wasn't super focused on them getting tons of XP. Mechanist I feel like never really has that happen. That being said well said for all the other classes! I will say though the merchant's Monocle means that newer players can take things very slowly and play as something like a Skeleton without worrying about starvation and not lose out on traders which is pretty great too.

Me my girlfriend and our friend all picked it up about 3 days ago and are having a blast. I've been preferring the wanderer merchant and barbarian while my girlfriend likes monk and wizard and our friend goes with cleric. we got to the baron once but got wiped, but we'll get there!

I'd love to see separate ratings for solo play and for group play, although that video would be twice as long (: I think some classes really shine in one situation but not the other. Some thoughts on some of the placements: -Accursed is a tricky one to place in a group unless everyone's on board with you taking the last hit with a flanking strike to guarantee blood vials. You also need your teammates to keep up with the rate of play since you're so much hungrier. -Brewer is S-tier paired with anyone that starts with higher trading skill so you get access to more potions through the shopkeepers' extra slots sooner. Potions are easily the fastest way to kill bosses as long as you have the important recipes memorized and don't take all day brewing. - All of the spellcasters who start with books should probably bump up a tier in a group setting because their books can be used by at least two party members. The healer's spellbooks both start brand new, so in a group everyone gets to learn self-healing. -Conjurer is a terrible experience in a group setting. The skeleton walks way too slowly to keep up with the group and needs to get the last hit on enemies to improve the your leadership skill. It's still worth keeping them out for XP but they are better-paired with a class that starts with a damage spellbook to play a somewhat conventional caster. -I think you're sleeping on the joker's ring of levitation+ranged weapon from level 1. C-tier is harsh for an easy start since there are so many common tiles in the mines with gaps. -D-tier for mesmer is too harsh. 25% INT growth, 60/40 magic/casting, and a spellbook of cold to start with for a damage spell. Even if you completely ignore their charming ability, mesmer is a fully competent spellcaster with some fun leadership bonuses. -Wanderer needs another tier up for the ring of warning. Having a guaranteed ring of warning for the gnomish mines lets you power through it really quickly, setting you up for the rest of your run.

About the Accursed, I thought that being a human allows you to eat food besides drinking blood vials, which helps a lot with the hunger management (or at least I remember doing that on a previous version, I don't know if the devs changed it). That's what I thought too! It's only until I read the debuff you spawn with- the vampiric curse or whatever. Something I forgot the mention in the video is that when you get to the Ruins stage and enter the Library (secret area), you can actually lift the curse by reading one of the spell books near the end of the Library, so you'll never have to worry about drinking blood again! But I really appreciate the kind words, I'm so happy you're enjoying my content! :D

Yeah, I forgot about that room too! For anybody else reading this comment, keep in mind that it only spawns the spellbook if you have an Accursed member in the party, otherwise the chest has random items. Also, with the spell learned, you can toggle on/off the "Vampiric Aura" which is an INT stat buff, basically

I think you might have forgotten to mention that the tinkering kit allows you to repair most of your equipment whenever you want, as long as you have enough skill/scrap. On your review of the sexton class you said that the utility spells given were niche. Opening is absolutely not a niche spell. Unlike non-magical sources of lock-opening such as lockpicks, the opening spell is the ONLY way to open locked gates without the respective lever for them, making it really a bit of a must-have spell. also, i agree, it's shelob, not shelobe.

I bought the game 2 weeks ago. My favorite class for now is the Wonderer, in the early game if u are capable of abuse it about his ability to gear up in the gnomes mines u are set to try to go to the underworld to get the legendary bow. I have made a run of 17 hours with the Minotaur disabled to understand everything about this game. In this playing truogh i have beat for the first time the Minotaur in the maze (SO FUNNY AND TENSION) and than I beat Baphomet (I was confused why i didn't found out the Baron, than I rode the wiki and learnt that I challenged the hell like an idiot). And End the game with a 100 level Wanderer ( all the Preparation was for almost nothing because than I realized i was TOO set for the final boses that i made TOO MUCH STUFF for nothing, I killed them so easily. I had 30 max healing potion and 5 ressuration amulets, and also all the god armour (so FUNNY). Thanks to your tear list I will choose one of the top tier list classes, I think I will take the Arcanist or the Mage, thank you man for the nice video. P. S i also watched all your tutorial about the levels to be prepared in the beginning. Awesome videos, I hope u will make the next videos about the levels 15-20, 20-25 and more; good videos and well explained.

I totally agree with what you said towards the end of your comment about being WAY too prepared for the bosses lol. I'm sure the devs will add more content for the later stages of Barony, but I tend to find myself struggling against the Cockatrice enemies more than the final boss. It's a weird situation to be in because you find yourself like... leveling up and finding strong gear to fight an enemy that's somehow more dangerous than the boss, so idk, sometimes the boss is underwhelming. After completing the game, I sometimes say to myself "...wow, well... maybe I'll play another class so I have more of a challenge." lol Also, I really appreciate you for taking the time to write all of that! I love reading everyone's comments, and I'm also really happy to hear you're enjoying my content!!! :D

just my personal opinion but barbarian having some specialty in alchemy makes sense, barbarians tend to be based off vikings which were known to use mushrooms to put themselves in a trance-like state, plus the sterotypical shaman using herbal remedies etc. Either way going goatman mixed with barbarian is fun just for roleplay reasons, defo not a game changing combo but being a drunken goat swinging an axe around is fun

Like i can tell some races work best wirh certain other races, byr where does a goblin fit as a warrior? A rogue? mesmer is OK, it is not D(I would put it on C)...Joker is D. it starts with a slingshot some pies it sucks in stats. Mesmer have strong spell damage, and summon it is not the best but definetly not the worst. About Healer, Healer is bad at first however he becomes a very good class after some levels, because of the high CON /block and spells I would put it on B or A, however it is not beginner friendly. Barbarian is B also, it is an Ok class.

shame some of these classes are dlc locked. I beat the game not long ago with rouge leaning into working as a ranger but if i had a stronger base for ranged gameplay it probably wouldn't have been the rough early game slog it was, still having the lockpicks and tinkering to get a ton of free arrows on the swamp levels was a bonus. I'd love to give the shaman or brewer a try, i love the idea of becoming an alchemist capable of bottling lightning and throwing it at fools.

I think one of the most underappreciated aspects of Barony is the variety of classes you can pick- and while they're all so different, you get a healthy selection to choose from. Like you have your Ranged classes, melee classes, and magic classes, etc, so finding one that fits your playstyle is relatively easy, as long as you're comfortable expanding your horizons lol

I love this class too! Again I wish it was a little more.... unique? Like it's incredibly fun and "unique-ish" but it's just kind of underwhelming in many ways. I personally think it needs a mini quality of life update, this class absolutely deserves to be played more!!

And that's also a really good way of phrasing it- "too restrictive"... it definitely needs a minor tweak to turn this class from a watered-down version of the Conjurer. Charming two monsters might be a great idea, but I REALLY feel like a progression-based "charming" effects would be insanely fun. Something similar to like the Conjurer and when the skeletons gaining different armor/weapons at certain levels; the Mesmer could have something like a Lesser Charm Monster spell at level 1 (60 seconds, only works on rats, skeletons, spiders, etc) , a Normal Charm Monster spell (120 seconds, goblins, ghouls, etc), level 20 Advanced Charm spell (permanent charm effect, works on trolls, gnomes, insectoids), and then at like level 25, you get the Dominate spell. In any case, I think the Mesmer needs a small QoL update for sure!!!!

I agree with you its pronounced She-lob, but under no circumstances is it pronounced she - lobe. I don't think players understand that Shelob is literally a reference from Lord of the Rings. Shelob is elvish for a female spider. And also she drops a cursed ring of invisability, which is literally the ring from the movie.

Wizard should be D tier weak early game and has to transitioned to melee late or be useless weak early weak late

you might just need to work on your mana management, wizard is one of the strongest characters in the early game. in the late game, you'll encounter some enemies that are resistant to magic, so you might need to get crafty to kill them, but you also have access to many more spells, potions, and tools at that stage in the game. notably, none of the game's bosses resist magic, so wizard's damage output against them is excellent and safe.

You can beat this game on any class once you finish grinding gnome mines, the late game for this game is a joke, the only difficulty is getting to that point. melee classes scale well into late game unlike wizard, can you beat the game as wizard? Yes in fact you can do it very easily, does it take ages to kill any mobs late game with spells? Also yes that's why the class is dog sht and belong in d tier

I think the Wizard is crazy strong, it's a really solid class when you can properly manage your mana expenditure. Thankfully some of the new hats and mask in Barony help out a lot with mana, so you don't have to worry about deciding when and how to use certain spells. If I can recommend something, it's to level your Casting skill as often as you can. While you're waiting for your friend to finish taking a fat one, spam cheap spells like the Spell of Light, Spell of Levitation, or even Spell of Forcebolt if you have to. Also like I mentioned previously, keep an eye out for some of the new hats!!!! Some of them can completely make or break certain classes, and the Wizard is no exception. I think it's called the Magus' Headdress, if you find that, your run will do a complete 180. Also, challenge yourself and try to find the Artifact in the Gnomish Mines! Its always in the bottom right corner- the hat you get is I N S A N E for mages in the early game!!!!!!! Can't quite remember the spell off the top of my head, but the late game for mages can easily be conquered with the "arcane mark" spell. Can't remember what its called, but I'm pretty sure it's Arcane Mark!
