Wow, we are going deep! I learned a few things I didn't know! Hell yea dropping the knowledge!

Precision loading and bullet selection are factors as well. Finding where the gun and bullet match will give your prime performance

To me the node is the point of lowest relative barrell velocity at the muzzle. This point, in my belief, does not necessarily correlate to absolute barrel centerline. I feel the centerline would actually have the highest relative velocity. The sine wave to me is a relative barrel velocity plot at a single point ie muzzle. Then when a bullet has a variation in muzzle velocity producing a exiting of the barrel at different times it does so when the barrel has a "pause" or point of zero relative velocity. This zero velocity point would then yeild a buffer time where a bullet leaving early or late exit are at the same point.

If you are wanting to tune a load should you wait until the barrel is broken in? I’m in the process of building my first rifle decide to buy once cry once.

For reference 6mm creedmoor from an impact action, 26” 7.5 twist proof mtu barrel, little bastard gen 3, triggertech diamond and foundation MG2 so far waiting on the athlon Cronus to be delivered and ckyepod single pull should be in soon

I’m lucky enough to be in Nebraska and got to know quite a few of the long range shooters around here and think I have the right rifle build but I’ve shot less than 10 rounds through a bolt gun in my life😂 hoping that means no bad habits

You got some good input, awesome setup!! I usually start my load development right away if the rifle is grouping decent off the bat. Lapped barrels don’t require as much of a break in as others, so you shouldn’t see a huge change after break in. But you may need to tweak the load just a little

@@longrangescience my hope is I get lucky and my rifle likes Hornady match, the guy at Radix precision that cut my barrel for me has had some of his rifles shoot .080” at 118 yards with box ammo
