That's because Barret's mind wasn't completely broken. Losing your arm, falling off a cliff, and being left for dead does things to a man. Barret was only slightly more fortunate than his dear friend, who fell down far too deep into the abyss of despair.

@@tsukuneboy Modern Japan has a far bigger sensitivity against depictions of direct suicide, due to high and rising rates. USA has controversy about media depictions of suicide, particularly teenage suicide, but it opts for ratings and not censorship, discussions about whether media is endorsing it and not whether it should happen at all. 'Awareness' not 'silence'. 'Unalive' is a response to social media censorship of the word 'suicide' because the topic is not ad friendly. In fact its something used by teens and young adults because they DO want to talk about suicide. But sure, its probably both. This is a gacha game that may be freely in the hands of younger kids and the visual of someone tossing themselves off a cliff in a giving up on life, isn't necessarily something that's as casually added to a video game. A say, M rated FFXVII in the future might, and certainly many other games, but not something that can be in the hands of your little niece/nephew. Even Persona 3 kinda loopholes it with the genuine-remake argument plus that Evokers are stated and shown over and over to not be actual suicide devices (but its all borderline). Dyne is basically committing a Suicide by Shinra now (Ever Crisis etc) but we can read between the lines still.

that's not how it happened in the original, cause in that one, Dyne just leaped off the edge of a cliff, not being gunned down by a single Shinra soldier.

Just a reminder, you will get a massive healing boost in Defense stance so switch to that when using healing skills then switch back to attack stance quickly for the damage boost again for attacks.

Dyne's original death was much better. Having one random Shinra trooper kill him is stupid. Why would a single combatant rush two guys with *guns for arms*?
