Yeah I've noticed that with a lot of anime composers work too. I guess that's the risk of doing so many shows that the ideas get reused in slightly different ways.

personally, i don't have a big issue with it. AOT certainly has a good range of melody, and i personally found that the songs are just too iconic for the series. it's like the Transformers introduction theme of the 80s. it's iconic to the franchise, and it's why in every new adaptation with the exception of the live action, there's some deviation in the theme, but it all follows that similar melody. maybe it's lazy, maybe it's just to save time, but nonetheless it's iconic af.
