Barrie Schwortz, original documenting photographer for the Shroud of Turin project in 1978, travels and speaks about the Shroud all over the world. The Cathedral of St. John Berchmans in Shreveport, LA, brought him in to speak as part of their Shroud exhibit, which includes a life-sized replica of the Shroud on cloth.

1:52:02 🤗 Of all of Barrie Schwortz's presentations, this is the closest he has gotten to openly state he believes Jesus is the Messiah. It is being held at a Catholic church and I don’t know too much about what is going on in that circle but surely it was advertised somewhere else....... Topic : The properties of the Shroud of Turin To all those geniuses, that claim that it is a painting produced by a medieval painter circa 1500 AC, please find another painting (work of art from any period by ANY painter ) that when photographed would produced and exhibits the properties produced (a 3 dimensional positive of a negative) in the Shroud of Turin. The date is irrelevant (whether its a modern or ancient work of art) because what I am focusing here on this post is on the PROPERTIES which the Shroud exhibits when studied by competent scientists in a control environment . My main claim is that these properties are ONLY found in the Shroud of Turin and NO were else on planet earth therefore it is NOT a work of art made by a man but it is a miracle performed by Jehovah God himself. The day that anyone could duplicate the results/properties of the Shroud of Turin in a man made painting then I will believe it is a painting, till then I will acknowledge it as the Shroud linen that covered the dead body of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ preserved by a miracle performed by ALL MIGHTY Jehovah God (The Father) himself. Concerning the dating in which it was made , my opinion (which I could be wrong on it) is that it is the burial Shroud linen of our Lord Jesus Christ. You are asking the wrong question. It is not the colour of the blood that is important, it is the fact that no human DNA consistent with an immaculate conception has been found. Why is that, if the shroud truly is what it claims to be? It is the lack of any evidence directly linking the Shroud to a biblical Jesus, that is the reason why the Catholic church calls it an icon and not a relic.

So if you put an image of the TS into the VP8 - a device that is designed to extract depth data from 2D images - you get 3D data? How is that supposed to be surprising? Of course 2D images contain 3D data. Look at the video you're watching right now, which is a 2D image. Is Barrie Schortz closer to the camera than the audience members? I'm sure you'll answer that he isn't. That's depth data that we've extracted from this image. Nothing magical about it at all.

@G m If you stick any photograph in which is lit from the front, you'll get similar results to what you get with the shroud. The process by which the VP8 works is not complicated: lighter areas are adjudged as being closer. The claim about the shroud containing 3D data, as if that's testament to it's supernatural quality, is ridiculous.

You are correct in 2D -3D; but there are more things in this shroud image besides ; blood is hemoglobin with high creatinine ( due to muscle creating phosphate released from trauma ), coin image of Pilot era(26 AD onwards ), pollen of Judea , documented record of it from Turkey around 600 AD ; skeletal image on shroud ; matching wounds as described ; cloth itself of that era; overwhelming evidence that it is of crucified male person’s linen wrap ; how the image can occur in this fashion in linen itself is a good science; no image that we know of exists like this shroud.

Firstly, it's herring bone weave, which was unknown in burial shrouds of the time; Secondly, it's a single piece, whilst shrouds were known to be composed of several pieces - as is indeed described in the Gospels; lastly, it's been carbon dated to the 14th century. In summary, the cloth itself is a very weak piece of evidence.

Shroud of Turin By use of a Bible it is easy to prove the Shroud is NOT an image of Messiah. This concept comes because mankind pre-supposes Messiah had long hair which is a concept created SOLEY by painters of midcenturies. It is NOT possible Messiah had long hair no matter what the authors of this video state. At Hebrews 4:15 we read at no point of Messiah’s life did he ever SIN. 1 John 3:4 advises SIN IS THE VIOLATION OF THE LAW. So with this observation we can easily determine Messiah never violated the law. There is a law which Ezekiel speaks of well at Ez. 44:20 which reads, NIETHER SHALL THEY SHAVE THEIR HEADS NOR SUFFER THEIR LOCKS TO GROW LONG, THEY SHALL ONLY POLL THEIR HEADS. This terminology of POLL means to shear or cut short, but as stated above, NOT SHAVE the head. THIS IS A LAW MESSIAH NEVER VIOLATED ACCORDING TO YOUR BIBLE. Note the commentary in Ezekiel above is to the priests but recall Hebrews 10:21 indicates Messiah is the High Priest thus he is a priest and too, Isaiah 24:2 indicates whatever is mandated by law to men is also for the priests. Men who are not priests and men who are priests are told to cut their hair short and it is forbidden to wear long hair. So how is it possible to argue Messiah had long hair after this Biblical logic? If anyone suggests Father Yahweh approves of long hair, this person is a liar and fool. Yahweh told you in the law he DOES NOT approve of long hair on men. Messiah told you at Mt. 13:41-42 ALL THOSE who violate the law will be taken out of the kingdom and thrown into fire. Father Yahweh told you at Isaiah 24:1-6 because mankind refuses to keep the laws and because they CHANGED the law, the whole earth will burn up with a curse and few men will be left alive. So anyone growing their hair long will have in fact violated the law and one could say they are responsible for the earth burning and killing most people because they refused to obey. Yahweh also told you NOTHING in the law would ever change and Messiah said the same thing so how do fools tell you lies about Messiah? (Ps. 89:34 & Mt. 5:17-20) The only exception in a Bible would be to use an example of Samson. This man was under a Nazarite vow all of his life according to any bible version thus according to law, he would never cut his hair until the vow was completed. For this man, his vow was ongoing all his life. Most men would see a time period of working to fulfill the vow and when that vow was complete, the man shaved his head to indicate the vow was fulfilled. Men like Samson and Yahshua Messiah DID NOT live their lives violating any laws. Therefore it is NOT possible Messiah had long hair. This fact cannot be hidden but the authors will argue their nonsense to perpetuate their video lies. By telling you these truths, I am keeping the law seen at Lev. 5:1 thus I will do it. A man also under a Nazarite vow was not allowed to come in contact with the grape or anything made with grapes for the full term of the vow. Messiah was seen to produce wine made from grapes at a wedding and because we know he never violated the law, all of his life he partook of wine during Passover AS PER LAW. That would be the laws he never violated. Had Messiah been under a Nazarite vow, it is quite reasonable to know it would be written about. It is not. To the trained Hebrew reader, when reading of Samson having grown his hair long, it would automatically be known by the Hebrew lawfully trained mind Samson was under a vow which escapes the knowledge of all unlawful readers. This concept by sheer logic shows the Shroud to NOT be an image of Messiah. His hair was never long and if it was, he would have been a charlatan as a Messiah could have never violated the law and become the perfect sacrificial lamb. The concept would have been a lie which it is not. Messiah was perfect thus blameless. People want to believe what they want to believe. Kids believe there are monsters under the bed but they are not there. It is not remotely possible Messiah or any other lawful men wore their hair long. To say otherwise is to call your Bible a liar.

A blemish in a man's life would be a sin. Messiah NEVER SINNED ever. You are incorrect. There is NOTHING in the law allowing an exception to the law. In fact Messiah states at Mt. 13:41-42 that ALL THOSE WHO VIOLATE THE LAW WILL BE GATHERED OUT OF THE KINGDOM AND THROWN INTO A FURNACE OF FIRE. You suggest Messiah sinned. In which case to Messiah words, HE TOO would die in fire since he stated ALL THOSE who violate the law will die. He did not say there was a special branch of idiots who a special pass. When the vow is complete the head is shaved to then show sign the vow is complete. Samson lived under a vow is whole like and never saw his vow fully completed while under the lifelong vow. I also explained in my comment why Messiah was not ever under such a vow. He drank wine AS PER LAW at Passover for sure since all his life he was lawful. He could not have drunk wine had he been under a vow. I also show how Yahshua Messiah made wine which is unlawful for anyone under a vow. The laws pertaining to wine say one can not touch a grape or the produce of it while under a vow. Since Yahshua produced wine at a wedding party, he could not have been under a vow at this time of his life. With this knowledge, Messiah could not have had long hair thus proving the Shroud of Turin is a forgery. The idea of Messiah having long hair is simply nonsense from the Middle ages that was passed down in paintings. Now let us speak of paintings of Messiah. One of the COMMANDS in the decalog forbids making such paintings. YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELF ANY GRAVEN IMAGE OR ANY LIKENESS OF ANYTHING IN HEAVEN yet I walk into most churches and find paintings of Messiah and carved images. A graven image suggests a carved image. The command said YOU SHALL NOT MAKE. The word MAKE means TO CAUSE TO BE OR TO CAUSE TO COME INTO EXISTENCE. So idiot men violate that law by causing to come into existence any of these images. The law further mandates one is not to MAKE ANY LIKENESS OF ANYTHING IN HEAVEN. John. 3:13 advises ONLY THE MESSIAH is in heaven. NO ONE is in heaven having risen there except the Messiah. But with this verse we know factually that is where Messiah is to this day. He is in heaven. And he only got there because he never violated the law. Mankind for centuries has been PAGAN in everything they do. A pagan is simply one who does not adhere to Yahweh's laws. So the churches I speak of DO NOT serve Yahweh as they lie when they speak as they cant even follow a simple command of not making or causing to come into existence images of Messiah who we know factually is in heaven. So why would we take an unlawful image and use it to perpetuate an idea Messiah ever wore his hair in violation of the law?
