Boy have they maintained... it's a bummer how she had to split with Barrio Queen owners after she pretty much poured her heart into the concept they've since run with! Nothing beats an original-- can't replace Esparza-- without her, Barrio Queen lacks the heart and soul of a family restaurant! After reading about her "contentious" split with Nash and Rosenfield, I'm glad to actually say in retrospect, I've never actually been to any of the Barrio Queen restaurants. My wife and I, however, HAVE BEEN to the original Barrio Cafe in Phoenix after we heard about her on one of the food network shows! Her food is phenomenal-- you can tell she cooks with love for what she produces in her kitchen-- you can taste it in every bite!
