@10:11 - A long time ago that was a shop called "THE TOY BOX", I remember my mum taking me in there when I was little.

When I was little, I remember going to a florists in the Mall which I believe was called "The Flower Bowl" - For the princely sum of £1.00, I was able to buy a rose with some artificial "fern" for my mum - Well, I say "princely", but in hindsight, that was probably pretty steep for around 1982 !

I moved away from Barrow in 1992 and came back in 2011. Interesting to see how I left it and how it has changed since then. Even in the last 10 years there have been a lot more changes with the new Holiday Inn being built, the new Alfred Barrow health centre and now the Atkinson Centre being demolished.

I lived in Barrow then, on Walney island. I was 12.

i used to live in cross st back in the early 70ty , went to risedale, all gone now

The first bit was Risedale School, I think also Abbey Baths just after it had been pretty much demolished is on here too.
