It's really interesting how people don't see it. Snowbarry is like the most secret not-secret pairing on any show lol The writers dropped dozens of hits for them up to the latest episode, yet they can't state it outright because, oh dear, whatever will happen to "golden standard" couple which >80% of the fans hate. If there is one thing the show is consistent at - it's showing Caitlin & Barry are meant to be, while Barry & Iris are just an accident and here to create some more drama and waste time.

That is a problem most people have with her character. In season 1 she said to Eddie "screw the future, i'm not gonna let some paper dictate who i'm destined to be with. I love you, Eddie, and want to be with you". In season 2 - "everything seems to tell me and Barry are supposed to be together. i mean, in the future we are married, on another Earth we are married". Hypocrisy is unreal.

omg i agree with both of you on so many levels. my main problem with iris is that i haven't noticed any character development, rather a relapse/backslide. besides the "we're the flash, barry" [we not relating to the team but to her and barry] she has done nothing. and i know that the writers have given her scenes were she 'beats up' the nazis, etc but i'm talking about some real jobs...e.g. going back to journalism

Her entire character description is "be a love interest". It's pretty obvious nobody is invested in her as a character, she's here just to be a love interest for Barry, nothing more. Who did bad guys hurt/take all 3 seasons? Caitlin. Who has a character arc that's still going except Barry? Caitlin. Who actually interacts with people other than Barry? Caitlin. Who's at the center of attention after Barry? Caitlin/Frost. CS/KF is the second character of the show, actual female lead regardless of how much screentime Iris gets nowdays. Everybody loves Caitlin, everybody loves KF. And everybody literally gave up on Iris after season 1. No character development, no actual job, no real contribution. She's just there because she's Iris, that is her only reason to still be there. They could've actually built her up as a reporter with connections like Lois was in Smallville last seasons. Like she gets news from around the city from her "people" and that's how she's useful, she tracks down stories. But no, she's just a waste of screentime with pep talks to Barry, standing in background and saying/asking stupid stuff that somehow made it from script to production like "we're the flash" that pissed off a lot of people and created generation of memes. Her writing is inconsistent, she's given whatever the plot wants with little to no regard for what happened before or happening now and nobody including the writing team actually is invested in her. She has no friends, she haven't even tried to become friends with anybody on the team unless forced to like in 4x05 with Caitlin, she's literally in the background and that isn't even my opinion - that's the writing choice for her: "we'll write whatever we actually want to write and then insert some typical stuff we give her like pep talks, talking about marriage/wedding, asking what is it or asking to explain when everybody talks science". I really don't want to offend people but I'm sorry, any person with some brain cells shouldn't like her character writing style and hate the writing team/showrunners for what they did to her character, or hate her character since her character is the product of writing team and this character isn't IW character from comics in general, this is a new character people are free to hate for its writing. I really hope they have the guts to do comic book storyline with killing her off and brinding 30th century version of her later. That way she can be entirely rewritten from scratch into a likeable character. Also it can delay WA by however many seasons they want to push this show for before it's about to end and have actual WA endgame after snowbarry had its run for a few seasons. (If they still will want WA after seeing how awesome snowbarry is). Everybody will be happy. But the entire team of people seems to be dumber than just me or hudreds of other individual people who expressed similar thoughts.

I will never lose the HOPE for SnowBarry.. Tom Cavanagh is our Captain of the ship, you can truly see that Grant has Better chemistry with Danielle, but also that even little scenes with SnowBarry has more tension and emotions in it than “romantic” scenes with westallen

Sorry, this is way too late, I agree so much! Like Cait is being done so dirty, new love interest every season, they leave, Ronnie is dead and Barry isn't even there for as a friend. The part when she was getting beat by Amunet and Barry was in the bar really hit hard because it was just such a true representation of what they've become. And the team use her so much and preach about friendship and family.. ugh, it hurts. I agree, I agree, I agree and I love this video! That scene with Amunet and Cait, and Barry in the bar, hit me so hard though. That's why I even have it in the thumbnail for this vid... it makes me feel so devastated. Yeah call me crazy but I got a feeling that they'll happen at some point. It's been built up and teased for so long and doesn't show signs of slowing down, I'm totally convinced that the writers have planned it out this way. Unless they're complete and utter idiots cause I don't know how they could keep unintentionally hitting the mark like this with every passing episode/season. It would be an absolute crime if it never did, based on all the signs we've seen of it so far. So fingers crossed that they do end up together for at least a little while, if not forever.

I agree that's what i think too. I have this feeling that they'll push snowbarry since alot of the fans love snowbarry and I'm sure they must've read or heard it somewhere. Sometimes writers will do anything to keep the viewers watching the show and snowbarry might have a chance. I saw the possibilities for both, I thought Barry and Caitlin would have been great together, maybe have them be together for a season or two, then break up and remain friends, or Caitlin becomes Killer Frost and he's forced to give up on their feelings. Hell,I was all for Barry and Iris, but not the way they did it. Make it a slowburn, don't have him obsessed with her for years without acting on it. Don't have her choose to reject the future of them together as an act of free will to be with Eddie, then convince herself it was fate because he died. Don't have him stalk her in Flashpoint for MONTHS, have him introduce himself as a classmate from ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, and try to woo her using memories from an alternate timeline. Don't have him break up with Patty so she moves to Midway City, so she can be safe( in a city he can't protect her in) because he's worried about the POSSIBILITY of her getting hurt, then turn around and PROPOSE to Iris to try to prevent something GUARANTEED to happen(they gave him hell for the decision but that doesn't make the fact that he proposed again an episode later any better) The only universe where it seems like they could have worked a LITTLE BIT WITHOUT IT FEELING FORCED was the one where they didn't grow up together. They could have easily made her Iris West-Allen by "adopting" his name, so no matter what, he'd still have family even though he lost his parents. It wouldn't have changed anything about the timeline, because it's only a name.

Even disregarding the chemistry these two characters have, the main thing for me is that SB is still a much better-written ship than WA. You hit the nail on the head with the Stranger Things clip. The shared trauma is a huge deal. WA says that their ship is unsinkable. The Titanic was also called unsinkable, and what sank the Titanic? An iceberg.

this so much! snowbarry have more chemistry just standing by each other than WA do kissing. snowbarry see the best in each other, they've seen the worst in each other also and still care snout each other, he's the first person to make her smile after Ronnie, they have do many similarities and just fit so perfectly together and their dynamic and chemistry is so effortless and natural and the writers just ignore it and force westallen on us, the ratings have been dripping since s3 and that's when WA got together romantically like we don't know why the ratings have been dropping, this show is going the arrow way and I hate it. I used yo ship westallen but them shoving them down our throats since s3 is why I stopped, I shipped olicity on arrow until s4 when laurel died and her death was made about them, if the flash keeps this up the show won't last much longer, I'm not saying snowbarry gave to be endgame but they could st least put them together for a little bit I mean you can't tell me they don't see their chemistry and connection and similarities ughhhh

inspiring: Ironically the writers have done so much to force WA SINCE THE BEGINNING of the show that it's gotten to the point where I can never ship them. It's all about saying "Hey guys, you should ship WA because she's this perfect puzzle piece that makes everything right in the universe." It's big and grand, but lacks human emotion. The newspaper: Apparently the universe wants them married in the future. Ok, so why should I worry about the present? It's going to happen regardless of human choices. Their 'long history': Apparently they don't need to SHOW us events that built their connection because they can just TELL us instead, so we should care about events we've NEVER seen. The 'lightning rod' BS: In no way did they ever explain this to the point where it is anything other than just contrived nonsense. Apparently Iris is this one piece that completes Barry or something even though he did just fine without her and they could have just had Cisco pull him out but wanted to force WA. The Savitar plot: Turning Iris into this plot device without which the whole city and Barry falls to pieces is absurd. Having Barry push EVERYONE away and abandon the city because Iris died is too much. That is something you'd expect out of the Punisher, not the Flash. 'We are the Flash': I don't HATE it, but it's yet another way of basically saying the Flash can't function without Iris or some nonsense. They've even gone as far as having Barry forget things he should either know or be able to figure out just so Iris can pop in with advice. Nora's appearance: "Hey guys, you should want WA to stay together because they have a daughter in the future, and if there's one thing we've learned from this show and Legends of Tomorrow it's that the future is a CONSTANT THING THAT NEVER CHANGES."

right?!?! I used to like Barry with both but I always preferred snowbarry, their dynamic and chemistry is just so much deeper, they don't have to try they just have it they would be perfect together, snowbarry could just stand next to watch other and have more chemistry then WA do kissing. it was him that got her to smile again, he was the first person to do that after Ronnie and in 3x07 he's the one that stopped her from being killer frost, they bring out the best in each other and the writers just ignore all they have and shove westallen down our throats, especially since s3 we get it okay he loves her but has nobody noticed she didn't open herself up to it until after Eddie died or until ppl kept talking about them, I honestly believe if Eddie had lived she'd be with him not Barry, snowbarry is just better IMO. they have a deeper connection and see the best in each other and their chemistry is do effortless and natural and I don't get ppl that don't see it. ppl can ship westsllen but to say he has no chemistry with Caitlin is ridiculous because their blind I'd they think that.
