Barry wants to apologize for being a "violent asshole" etc., so he sends Sally a voice-to-text message while shopping and seems completely oblivious to the people around him. Barry (2018), Season 3 Episode 6.

Everyone here is trying to take sides. The fact of the matter is this is a perfect example of toxic co-dependency in a relationship. Sally fits the description of covert narcissism; she cannot empathize with anyone and has permanently adopted a victim complex that she uses to manipulate people. Not saying that she hasn't been a victim, but as a survival mechanism she's learned to use that to get what she wants. She asks Barry to hold a ton of emotional space for her while offering nothing in return. She's completely self-absorbed. But Barry's legitimately a sociopath and a very dangerous dude, and what happened in the earlier scene was more than just him "yelling" at her. Anyone with a basic understanding of body language can gather that he was implying physical harm her in that moment. He walks up within inches of her, menacing down at her while shaking and acting completely unhinged. And when he realizes he's not going to get what he wants, he walks out without even a modicum of remorse or understanding of what he's done. He only finds it within himself to apologize after he understands that Sally is going to leave him as a means of keeping her around, but there's likely nothing genuine there. Maybe there's hope for Barry. Either he's a psychopath from the womb and a lost cause, or he's been shaped into what he is, in which case he can change his trajectory. Sally clearly has a path out of her anti-social tendencies if she does some work on herself and gains some self awareness. Either way, neither of them are going to heal in a relationship together.
