Never wanted him to leave but was very surprised they he didn't go to one of the euro giants, he was more than good enough. He was a special player and we haven't produced anything close to him from our academy since he came through in the late 90s.

An absolute architect, went to England at the wrong time twice. Don’t know many midfielders in world football who could play like him. He dribbled like a right footed Jim Baxter and if he was English he would have been up there with Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard without a doubt.

Incredible...but also sad. We may never see his like again. Coming through the club.....captain for world-class players....goal-scoring midfielder (lordy, we could do with one of THEM now). But he's a truly banal pundit, which perhaps alludes to him being unable to be a successful coach...which in turn means that he cannot go on to manage Rangers.
