I know Barry wrote for others out of the kindness of his heart bc ...well, that's just who Barry is. But I can't help but wish he'd put out demos of ALL of his songs he wrote for others bc they were written so perfectly for his voice and no one could EVER sing them as beautifully as he. I listen to other artist's songs that were written by him and can't help but think..."man, I'd sure love to hear Barry sing this!" He just has a perfect voice, whether it's his natural voice or falsetto. No one tops the talent of Sir Barry Gibb!

I think only a fraction of their songs were actually disco, and right now I can't think of one. Maybe "you should be dancing" but the absolute variety of their songs is amazing and the Guiness Book I read today has him tied with McCartney for best songwriter now. How many songs did Paul write? I just can't imagine more than the Bee Gees or better.

2 very similar men, l think. But Paul is really amazing. He's in his 70's now - still touring like a trooper, 2 new albums in recent times - plus one more Grammy. Lets hope Barry can keep the machine going - now that he's back on the road.

But interesting enough, l'd say 85% of our successful Australian artists from the 60's, 70's, and 80's were all UK migrants, who mostly came from poorer working class homes struggling to survive in war torn UK. Before the days of TV, family sing alongs around the piano were the norm, and thats how l think this era of music evolved.
