Barry has natural acting talent. Would have loved to seen him do more. I know the brothers really disliked doing Sgt. Pepper but, upon recent viewings they (and Frampton) were the best part of it. Whenever they were not on screen its pace slowed. But when they were on it was fun, musical, energetic, and entertaining. I digress, NV was well done and I'm glad I came across it.

I have never seen him apart from his Linda, no matter what his age. Even in this movie, you can see Linda's photo at the bottom of the frame while singing the hunter song 😊 there were photos of her with Linda and his youngest son during the shooting of this movie. Linda was pregnant with their 4th son at the time. I love their love and the fact that he is such a decent man ❤️

He is supposed to have women fawning all over him. It's all part of a pop star's life. You can't take it too seriously. I got this great film on VHS when it came out. I just played Barry Gibb's "Now Voyager" CD, which is combined with Robin Gibb's "50 St. Catherine's Drive" album in a Swiss pressing.

There's also a 2 disc Andy Gibb release made in Switzerland, with the three albums and bonus tracks (but as always, no "Westfield Mansions" or "All I Have To Do Is Dream" with Victoria Principal.). On the back cover and disc, "I Go For You" is miswritten as "I Got For You." "Time Is Time" is mislabeled a second place on cover and disc, where it should say "Me (Without You)" there instead. It lists no contact info to report these mistakes to, and there seems to be current official Andy Gibb website with contact info to someone overseeing his legacy.

Well... They did the soundtrack for Sgt Peppers (beatles song), Saturday Night Fever and Staying Alive (along with other artists, all three films). "Melody" used their music extensively, and Hawks is another film wiht significant Barry Gibb music. There's also Cucumber Castle, a TV special. And there's this one. I think that's all. :) Acting-wise, Sgt Peppers, this one, and Cucumber Castle. They did not appear in SNFever.

It was quite strange & wondered if the creators were tripping, but loved most of the music. Didn't like seeing Barry getting roughed up, shocked, window slammed on his hands plunged into rough waters, kidnapped, or the sad & bewildered looks on his usually handsome, smiling & confident face. Liked the ending & Love Barry💜 Thanks for the helpfful explanation of it which I didn't see (in comments) until after the movie. It helped me to understand it better. Thanks much for sharing💚

This movie in my opinion is like one huge music video. I can hardly understand what the movie is really about. I'm just guessing that he may have died when he fell in the lake and this is what's happening to him spirit wise?

The way I see it is: Barry's character emerged from all the adventures as a more compassionate, less self centered person. Before the car went in the lake, he could not be bothered, in his rush, to stop to help a lady with car trouble. After the adventures, when the gods decided he'd learned his lesson, they returned him to his original vehicle to see what he'd learned and if he'd be less reckless and more caring. Indeed he then stopped the car just in time and chose to hear the cries and save the drowning old man.

Apart from the very end bit the sequences with the old man were all shot at the old Victoria Baths in Manchester, UK. The building closed in 1993 and is now a heritage centre undergoing much restoration - I went there recently for a look round and it's an amazing place.

I would say that this is a movie. It contains a prologue and an epilogue. There are basically individual video clips but they are combined into one story. There is this old and experienced man who teaches Barry the lessons of life. "Barry Gibb's magnificent 1984 concept film arrives on DVD for the first time. This 60 minute 'road movie' accompanied Barry Gibb's 1984 album of the same name, linking a series of pop music videos into a surreal musical journey through time, life, death , loss and pain. The film, which also stars legendary British actor Sir Michael Hordern, starts with spoilt pop star Gibb driving along a lonely road. After refusing to stop and help a stranded female motorist, Gibb falls asleep at the wheel and drives his car off a bridge into a river.
