I've heard that the council reopened the outdoor pool briefly, I know it closed again due to bad weather and problems with the new pumping system, but I don't know whenabouts in the 90's it reopened or how long it reopened for before closing down again. If anyone knows, please comment on my post.

had a lot off happy times down in the holiday camp in Barry island can anyone give me any info what the plans are for the old butlins holiday camp I know it's used as a car park they need to do something with the site information would be fantastic

Sam Bee they reopened it for a few months in 1998 and then it got closed for good.

It started going to rack and ruin by the end of the Eighties- (and I know that, 'cos I went there in 1989, and it was in a right sorry, old state by then), the condition of the camp, apparently, took even more of a dive during the early Nineties, and by the mid Nineties, it was so bad, and it was gunna cost so much to put right, that Glamorgan Council refused to renew the camp's entertainment licence, which proved to be the final nail in Barry Island's coffin.
