Cello. Exquisite instrument. Expresses such deep sweetness and such sadness. Remember hearing Elgar’s Cello Concerto (Yo Yo Ma) as a child and being moved to tears - but not having the vocabulary to explain why. This Schubert piece can do the same.

Hello everyone! I am trying to find a specific video of Bernard Greenhouse and I can't. PLEASE HELP ME. In the video, he is teaching a young student, they are on a stage and there is an audience. The student plays something, and then Bernard plays different versions of it saying "everything is possible but no..." and then he plays back what the student had played that was the same notes without a single emotion. Yes, but not quite like our modern equivalent. Schubert lived and composed this piece decades after Barry Lyndon’s story takes place, so the piano then would be even more similar to what we have today.
