It makes me so happy to see people appreciate Barry Manilow. It takes me back to my teenage years when there was absolutely no one else I listened to! Could it be Magic is one of my favorite songs and I know exactly how you felt when you heard it because that’s been me for the last 40 years. Great reaction. Thank you so much for doing this.

This is one of those guilty pleasures. Some People diss Barry as being too syrupy, pop love songs. But when I first heard THIS! WOW! BTW, the original recording is just haunting, even more beautiful.

No, that's wrong, when Barry Manilow first started he was considered a very good and respected singer. It was only several years later that he slipped into that Las Vegas showbiz performer, his early stuff is held in high esteem.

I was introduced to Barry Manilow's music by my oldest sister. He writes the most beautiful, romantic love songs I've ever heard. Could It Be Magic is my favorite. It's a melancholy, hauntingly song. Every time I listen to it, it takes me somewhere, like I'm in a trance. He has such a nice voice, and he is one of my favorite pop singers. He's gotten much older now, still performing, and even though I'm much, much younger, I still and will always remain a fan .

"Could It Be Magic" is a song with lyrics by Adrienne Anderson and music by Barry Manilow, based on Frédéric Chopin's Prelude in C minor, Opus 28, Number 20, so this song was based on a classic by Chopin. Donna Summer did her version in 1976.
