KC is the greatest vocal ever. She is high, out of ratings and charts, just in heaven among the stars and her shine is brightest and strongest. ❤KC !

@video198712. "The Karen Carpenter Story" starring Cynthia Gibb and Mitchell Anderson came out in 1989. It was a made-for-TV movie on the CBS-TV Network.

Karen Carpenter IS the best female vocalist ever as Barry Morrow says. She was popular around the world. Not too many people know this, but she was well known and popular in China back in the 1980s. I remember vacationing there and always heard the Carpenters songs on the radio. The Japanese love her too.

Randy stated that the DVD will be available in May to the public - which is fantastic in itself. I have an idea though - perhaps Randy may have the influence to enact - that since Karen was 'a star on earth and a star in heaven', maybe he could find some professional and degreed astronomers together and name a star in the night sky for Karen - one that shines as bright as 'the evening star' or the 'north star'. So that way Karen's star will grace us with her presence every night. Just a thought!

Wow - Cynthia Gibb is even more beautiful all these 35 years later than she was back in 1989 when she played Karen in the made-for-TV movie, "The Karen Carpenter Story"(1989) in which she was very good as Karen - although unfortunately in that film, she did not do a very good job of lip-synching to Karen's songs. I remember reading many years ago that Richard Carpenter bizarrely required Gibb to wear Karen's actual clothes in that film. When the clothes were taken out of boxes for Gibb to wear, dust came off of them from how long they had been in storage! Strange that the Carpenter family never donated those clothes to a worthy charity!

Judgemental, much? It's the family's business with what they do with anything in relationship to Karen. Some bird brains out there would try to make thousands if not millions off of her clothes, selling them on eBay and such. Unfortunately, many humans are just that greedy with no sense of honor and respect towards the dead. I praise Richard for PROTECTING his sister!

If Richard Carpenter had donated his sister's clothes to a worthy charity after she died in 1983, then they would not end up in the hands of greedy, unscrupulous people who are just looking to make money by selling them on Ebay!
