Planes, Trains and Automobiles, that Motel was ahead of it's time. Thanks for the video.

It should be restored back to flying status and saved for history.

Sure cough up a $million and do it. Each engine (not included) will cost u $50k
@onmyworkbench7000Ай бұрын
@@sblack48 I was thinking along the lines of one of the airplane restoration channels like Jimmy's world or Rebuild Rescue they do it all the time.
@sblack48Ай бұрын
@ sure, all you need is money and lots and lots of it. It looks in good shape and KS is dry so it might not be too corroded. You are talking about $3-$400k just in parts, forget labour. If you had it done with paid labour you’re talking about million+. Would it be worth that after? I dunno. It’s been done certainly.

Be cool if it were restored to flying condition. Beech 18s are super cool aircraft.

Movie made before that. Called Double Crossed, starring Dennis Hopper and Adrienne Bareau.

'Double Crossed' was much more historically accurate and true to Barry's personality than 'American Made". ^v^

I wonder if any inspiration was taken from this for the Miami Vice , Smugglers Blues episode. Glenn Frey played burned out ex Vietnam pilot flying a Beech 18 . My dad became a pilot in late 1973 . We rented lots of Cessna , Pipers and in 1976 joined the local Beech Areo Club and flew various Beechcraft . In 1980 my dad decided to buy his own plane and purchased a new Cessna 172 . Longest trip was from Baltimore BWI where we were based to Gadsden, Alabama .

I have flown in here many many times dating back to the 1980s
@raycoleman3183Ай бұрын
why wouldn’t we want to know all the history of this plane? It is an inanimate object, not subject to guilt or innocence because of the escapades of it’s operators. Now, the people involved in those escapades…..that is another story. Hard to know one side of that history without the other being revealed. Most of them are dead by now anyway. Those who aren’t, not yet anyway, deserve to sweat a little.

What branch of service did Barry Seal fly with? What kind of evidence do you have that Barry Seal actually flew or used the airplane? He brokered a lot of planes, most never seeing them as there were other people doing the hands on stuff.

The plane is Historic in its own right all by itself don’t see the need to pay homage to the idiot that happened to fly it just because he became a rat just to save his own skin. The Plane should be restored and there are plenty of people and organizations that would do that.
