In 1978 I worked in Los Angeles in Century City at AMC Entertainment Center One day a co-worker and I sat outside in the sun having lunch. When all of a sudden there was nothing but shade and the sun was gone I looked up and Barry White stood in front of me blocking the Sun. At the time his song Change was out and he sang a little bit of it to me and my coworker he was a big boy but he looked good and so sexy. Thank you for that sweet memory. Rest in PEACE Barry.

This song by Barry White Let The Music Play, one of my father's favorite songs, tells you about how a man suffers from the absence of his love, that despite not loving her, he imagines her. He closes his eyes and knows that he will see her, the idea that she is not by his side falls into his mind, but it is his only hope. He longs for his pain to disappear, he just wants to dance and jump without the music stopping!!! Barry left this world leaving us the best of him: his music....and to the beat and rhythm of this song I just want to ask: Please, let the music play, ............ ..................................Thank you Dad for allowing me to listen to high quality music with you that in some way allows me to have you always present....................

The 70s was a great decade for soul music. I went to many soul concerts, one of them Barry White & his Love Unlimited Orchestra. White was known as "The Maestro of Love." His songs always included a heavy dose of string instruments. 70's soul singers/groups sang about love & love heartbreak. Unlike today's performers, 70s soul music NEVER downgraded/disrespected women.
