Once again I learned a lot from your video! Thank you. Love your talks. I do want to mention that the offensive comment about deplorables by a presidential candidate in 2016, was aimed at Americans who are "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, and Islamophobic". It was not a comment directed toward Southerners, nor Appalachian people. ✌
@BarryVann2 жыл бұрын
Who is going to determine who is a deplorable? The phobic label is used used all of the time by people on the left. It's used to demean and overlook the other, so I don't like those labels either. It's no better than Hollywood blacklisting communists. When people with power start demonizing their own citizens, watch out. Stop calling people names, period.

Hi Barry. Jervis is well-known in Dublin as there is a historic Street and nowadays a tram stop. It's announced as "Jervis" in Irish and English. Now: "Sloane" was a fine piece of work - the word 'Sluagh' does mean a company in the military sense. It's mentioned in our National Anthem. The English-language crowd have taken the word 'slew' from it. We even have a junior naval cadetship called "Sluagh Muirí" i.e. sea squad.

From my research, a possible origin of Nichols is: nich is Celtic meaning: daughter of. The ols part is shorten: solson to olson. It is Scandinavian meaning: son of the sun. Nichols means: daughter/son of the sun. I did the big Y at familytreedna. I have lots of 1500 year old genetic connections to McDonalds and Camerons. Of course, I'm R1b, M269 to BY175528. From North Carolina, Walter Nichols. My mother, Native American mitochondria, C1c, was a Parris. I traced her ancestry through the Dawes Rolls. John Paris was from Ireland who in the 1720s tried to turn the Cherokee against the French. He had several Cherokee wives. An excellent book: Cherokee Lineages by James R Hicks.

There are alias surnames or dit names I some areas of France , second surnames May have been adopted to distinguish between different branches of same family, especially when families remained in same town or generations. French names with Germanic organs , official name changes in French in 1474. Those who wished to change their names to get permission from king . Some of medieval French submitted surnames I chose such as Allaire it’s medieval French name of village north western France ( Brittany). Chenery medieval franch derived from old French word ( chesne) for oak tree . Mitry medieval French descendant of noble owner of region located outside Paris France ( Mitty). In 1790 baben was first German state to require fixed surnames. Preuben issued edict in 1812 required that per moment family names be adopted within six months.some of medieval German surnames I chose such as babler it’s derived from old German word means “ battle of bright”. Denhart it’s composed of old German means ( young warrior). Gehr derived from old German word means ( spear ). Hardwick combing of two old German words “ hard”means “ strong”and ( wick) means “battle”.

Fort Liberty is an oxymoron because changing a name of a facility for political pressure is not liberty. Of course, they probably don't care whatsoever for anyone else's heritage except for their specific groups.
