Madchild is an OG barbarian from one of the most famous underground Canadian hip-hop groups called Swollen Members, which has been around since the late 90s. He's a solo act and battle rapper as well. He's honestly one of the most skilled white rappers ever. He's crossed over with a lot of Cali's best like Dialated Peoples and Planet Asia, etc. and has made a home here over the past couple of decades. He's as gangster as they come and been bout that shit for a long time. I HIGHLY recommend a deep dive into his work! He fell off a couple of times and came back, so people have lost track, but he deserves WAY more attention and credit for his skill and what he's brought to the game. Literally pick any track, from his work with Swollen Members starting in 99, all the way to his most recent, and you'll see dude doesn't miss like 99% of the time, and that's saying a lot because his catalog is deep af! Peace.

The Jackal by Madchild is a classic West Coast beat with bars for days. Madchild came up with a Canadian rap group called Swollen Members, who were pretty big when I was in early high school. A lot of the skaters who were into the underground rap scene were into them as well as groups like J5, Black Eyed Peas (when they were actually spitting conscious bars), Dilated Peoples, Alkaholiks (when Xzibit was a member), Atmosphere and Del the Funky Homosapien. In the late 90s they were probably the biggest hip hop act in Canada, i think their CD went triple platinum and they won a bunch of Canadian grammies. Madchild got into a lot of substance abuse issues over the years and was even banned from entering the US for a couple years till like 2014 or so because Homeland Security claimed he had ties to the Hell's Angels in Canada. Which he doesn't deny but he was never a patched member so it's not illegal to be friends with certain people. So eventually he moved from Vancouver to LA and relapsed again. He's loyal to Tom n Nova bc Tom let him crash on their couch when he was at rock bottom and his "friends" had no use for him anymore. Which I get the sense that Tom is proud of because he most likely grew up a fan of his. But Sober by Tom n Madchild is s must listen P.s a lot of people still know Madchild because he's heavily involved in the battle rap scene to this day. And apparently he's had some epic battles with a dude named Daylight. Guy is a legit lyricist.
