Sydnie: you are among the best of the best, ever, drawing the ears & eyes of everyone to your singing, your compassionate, English, art, and the tears well up every time, as happens not just for me. Your...full...voice is being heard far and wide, now, indeed, for your songs are just the most beautiful, complete songs, as you 'find your voice' more and more, at last. Now, I must stop talking as I want also to listen again to your songs, for each is so captivating.

Best performance EVER on a talent show (IMO). Absolutely STUNNING!!!!
@riccardocoletta23983 ай бұрын
Well... maybe "best performance ever" is abit high... I cannot say if this is better than "pretty little thing" on AGT champions by Curtney Hadwin or "Over the Rainbow" on AGT by Loren Allred. I surely agree that this is one of the best rendition of "My Way" that I can remember
@wajj18423 ай бұрын
@@riccardocoletta2398 Well, I did say IMO. It's always going to be a matter of preference in singing performances. I do love Loren, but not so much Courtney (not Curtney). Again, it depends on personal taste. Did I mention that in the 17/18 years of BGT, Sydnie is the only female singer to win. And there have been some great ones, including Loren Allred.
@riccardocoletta23983 ай бұрын
@@wajj1842 Well... winning is also a matter of luck and being in the right place on the right moment. I remember a BGT participant that when Simon asked "Do you think you can win" she replied "Well, there is for sure more than one performer better than me in UK, let's hope he/she doesn't partecipate to this edition". Sorry for my mistakes in naming people, but being English not my main language I do very often these sort of mistakes
@wajj18423 ай бұрын
@@riccardocoletta2398 No problem on the spelling, Riccardo. But I have to disagree on the "luck" variable. My take is that Sydnie won because: 1) her personality made her extremely likeable, and that was before she sang a note; 2) she choose the right songs, making it easy for the audience to appreciate her massive talent; and 3) and maybe most important, she is an incredible vocal talent: tone, control, pitch perfect, and emotional delivery. Again, I hope her tour in October sells out every venue. She deserves to rise to the top.

About auditioning before. Sydnie didn't auditioned only for "singing", she always auditioned for a musical in West End musical theatre production (that what is Broodway in US). There are maybe 8-10 decent productions in West End during an year and THOUSANDS of people that audition for it. When you audition for a musical, it isn't only a matter of "singing"; you have to be tall the right amount for an eventual male partner signer on the stage, the director looks for a particular face, eye and many other "acting" characteristics, not only "singing". Musical theatre is a damn competitive environment, full of good singers and great actresses. Sydnie won BGT and now she's touring and singing and her first album is about to come out, but this doesn't mean the next musical theatre audition she'll make she'll get the part she auditions for Thus, in some way, what Simon said is good for the BGT show, it make everyone cry "YES! How is it possible!", but in reality it doesn't make much sense in the musical industry. Sydnie, for now, accepted to make different career from what it was her first goal; now she go for SINGING, not musical theatre. Maybe she will use this tour she's about to start to put something important in her curriculum and next year she'll try again in the West End musiscal theatre environment. Or maybe she will be happy to be a singer instead of musial thatre performer. We'll see.

Well said, Riccardo. I hope she sells out every venue on her October tour. She is a rare talent that, for me, is right up there with Celine, Whitney, and Adele. Personally, I like Sydnie even more than those great female singers.

You guys did a great reaction for Sydnie on this one. Her Over the Rainbow finale is also a step beyond. Sydnie has recently debuted her first single, Starlight Express. The song come from the Andrew Llyod Webber play of the same name. When Sydnie requested to sing this song, MR. Webber called Sydnie personally and not only gave her permission, but he said she could put her Sydnie "kiss" on the song. Her version of Starlight Express can be found here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKaZpqWInqx5f8U However, to give you a true sense of how Sydnie takes a song and brigns it up, I found an original versionof Startlight Express for you to listen and compare. That was nowhere near the Frank Sinatra version. That performance was far, far better! Frank had nowhere near that power. Strange headline. Sydnie is a better singer than Adele and sings a syle more Theater than Pop and doesn't write songs. Adele is a lesser singer but a top songwriter. That gave her a great advantages because many great singers don't make it big due to not getting good songs. Glennis Grace would be a prime example..a Dutch singer who is incredible but remains confined to covers and therefor has a hard time breaking through to major audiences. btw somebody in the business explained Sydnie auditioned for musicals and then they have a type they are looking for for the role..even if another is a great singer.
