@ipogrim I could be wrong but it looks like a black gsd. I've never seen a black malinois and the tail hangs lower and is curved like a shepherd.

Thanks for the answer. Being recursive is what I usually try to be, I was in fact just wondering why magnetic vests become popular (well...somewhere at least) and would have been by next question had you been using one. ;^) Once again thanks!

This dog is absolutely a german shepher. Do not confuse this dog with bart's own dog "Thor" which is a bi-color malinois (obviously malinois do not come in that color so there must be something else back there). But "Thor" is probably almost 100% malinois.

@ipogrim I have 2 malinois myself, I agree with everyone else. Unless you show me a close up of this dog and his papers, I'm positive it's a shepherd too.

Can I ask a bit of advise ? I have a bad back and although my shepherd is fantastic on hand commands , sit drop come , stay I am having a real battle with the pulling on a lead , not real bad , but with my back bad enough, I have joined a obedience class but they get you to stop and pull the dog back then walk off again , but again I suffered later that night from this. I just bought a e collar to use on vibration only to try to get her more attenative am I on the right track ?

The dog is a GSD. Last year the dog suffered illnes from his pancreas, so he is not with us anymore
