Lesson on how to do a bartack stitch using a Janome computerized sewing machine. This lesson was done using the Janome 3160, but the information in this video can be applied to any Janome, Elna, Bernette, or Necchi sewing machine that has the bartack stitch. The stitch number may be different on your machine, but the process and machine settings are the same.

Great video. The manual is not explicit about needing to reset the mode to sew a new tack length, so this solved a frustrating problem for me! Thank you.

Thank you for your tutorial. It was very helpful. I am a beginner in quilting and don't know everything about quilting just learning.

I sew basic (for donation, nothing fancy) dog collars with a vintage Singer 201 (1948). I just sew back/forth 2-3 times. I make _two_ of those tacks at each location (the triglide & both sides of the D ring; total of 6). It's tedious (manually back forth). I've been under the impression all this time that I need to spend $5k on an industrial Juki LK1900 bartack machine. Your video caught my eye. The automatic operation would be terrific for me (for much 1/5th the expense). Do you believe this Janome 3160 is suitable for sewing through polypropylene webbing?[1] I believe my old Singer 201 is considered Heavy Duty, and it struggles. I have to help it often by turning the flywheel by hand to get started. Or, is there another machine that would do what you show, but more suitable (more power, heavier duty)? I see that the Juki HZL-DX5 has the same feature (even same #58 designation for the bartack). But, I can't tell what's more or less "heavy duty." It would be nice to be able to save a bartack setting (length, width, density of stitch), not have to set it up each time I start to work. But, wow, what I see you doing would be like a dream come true if this (or another) machine were powerful enough to do lots of webbing. If you had any pointers, I'd greatly appreciate it. [1] Webbing is 2.2mm (0.088") thick. Two layers: 4.4mm (0.175")
