this guy is going to be massive. he is the embodiment of everything people are really digging about the alternative music coming out these days leaning into some of the emo stuff that people are coming back around on but he has that mainstream appeal you rarely hear from artists of his popularity and scene.

This guy+musicians is/are all over the map stylistically - everything from Eighties alt-rock to live band hip-hop - and they're good at all of it. It's great. Not enough people have the guts to just follow their ear and do that.

A friend shared the name Bartees Strange with me. I was not familiar with their music. I am so glad that I have learned about this amazing artist! I completely agree with the previous comments. Bartees is all over the place, hitting different genres impeccably. The band is all great, with the drummer totally nailing it! I am now a big fan!!

Blown away by the variety of genres and they sound tight as can be - lots of real talent- the drummer is astonishing

It's testament to the songwriting and the passion with which they play these songs that they explore the elements, flesh them out, or make them so bombastic. I don't think there's been an artist/group this immediate for me in a long time. From the record, to the evolution of the live shows, to the constant touring. Just incredible.

Bartees Strange is bad ass. And the drummer is over the top, low key fire.

His new drummer is also next-level, and she joined him right after graduating from Berklee College of Music in May 2022. You can follower her along with Sheila E and her other 90k followers. @tkjohnson_

Like how all the band has that chemistry, you can see they love what they're doing and and are deeply moved by their songs. You want to play in a band where it's hard to hold back the tears. Such a great performance

Bartees Strange is an absolute legend. Live Forever is one of the most unique albums I've ever heard in my life, and Kelly Rowland was in my top 5 streamed songs on Spotify last year. I can't wait to hear what his next album is gonna be like.

Of all the newest indie rock artists I've seen come out in the past few years, Bartees Strange (and co) are capital-R "Rock," and I'm so glad that in no way do they sound like the past to my ears. Capital-R Rock that is forward facing is soooooo refreshing.

Amazing talent. I'm late to this party, but I did check out his album, and I'm not being critical at all, but live this band brings it hard, without the overwhelming atmospheric reverb that seems to be common with indie bands at this point. Fantastic musicianship, exceptional drumming, all around great stuff.
