You should be able to lay the glass on it’s side and the liquor should just touch the lip of the glass but not spill…that’s the correct measurement.

Decant? How does swirling decant? Outside of perhaps causing sediment to swirl and settle towards the center (possibly?)... and Amaretto? No decanting Amaretto necessary. When there is a need to separate a solid-liquid mixture, on occasion it is possible to pour off the liquid while leaving the solid behind. This process is called decanting. I think he may have meant to say aerate. That video needs to be re-done.

Damn dude.At first,I too started to "rag" on you here.But by most comments here,I see most are on the rag..guys or not. Whether or not youre correct is beside the point.I came here for info. I myself,havent a clue,or I wouldnt be here.Why the rest of these twigs are here,who knows. I had always,as a rookie,thought the snifter was specifically for brandy.But hell,what do I know.Like I said .Im a rookie. All I know us I drink to get hammered,and dont care if my booze comes in a paper dixie cup.

Just to let you know cognac is not a liqueur because it's not infused with any flavors. Also a snifter is not the proper glass to serve it in.
