... and in Australia. Every ski lift and gondola built in Australia and New Zealand in recent years has been Doppelmayr or Poma. Some variety would be nice.

@@inaroundSwitzerland We used to have local chairlift and T-bar makers in Australia, but the Aust and NZ market was too small for them to compete with big foreign companies. I run a web page on Australian ski lifts, so I'm happy to answer any questions people want to ask.

@@Dave_Sisson interesting, it makes sense as it might not be the main market for this industry. NZ I did know, but I didn’t know that there were ski areas in Australia! Thanks to let me know, I will check it out at the next opportunity

@@inaroundSwitzerland There are 5 large ski resorts in Australia and a number of small ones. From the late 1950s environmental regulations made it impossible to start a new ski resort so they are all over 60 years old. The large resorts are Thredbo, Mount Buller, Perisher, Hotham and Falls Creek.
