Surgery cured my Bartholins Cyst, permanently! I had a recurring cyst, I remember one tume, crying in pain on the phone to my doctor. He was suggesting I sit in a warm salty bath when, suddenly, it burst...the pressure and pain were relieved immediately. The surgeons asked my permission to cut down to the gland, then sew it open...sounded odd, but they advised this would prevent the cyst from returning, so I agreed. That was over 25 years ago and it NEVER returned. Best decision I ever made. Good luck ladies and don't take no for an answer x. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hi, I’ve been dealing with these cysts for a little over a year now and they come back A LOT. My Dr was talking about having the bartholin gland removed. Is that what you did? Or was it only partially removed? Please give me your opinion, I’ve done research talked to multiple Drs, I just want to take care of it and not constantly worry when I feel a “tinge” down there that it’s coming back. Any advice you can give will help. This is such an awful thing to deal with!

Thank you girl for sharing! Hearing stuff like this makes me so upset. I discovered I had this, a month postpartum. And the OBGYN saw it, said it was there and that was it. She didn’t explain where it came from or what I should do. Months later when experiencing pain from intercourse, I realized it got bigger and was becoming a problem. Went back to OGBYN and they finally told me about it and what to do. The doctors can be so useless and unhelpful and it’s so sad. I felt so unsupported. I had to go to google to really figure out what to do. And I’m still in the process of getting rid of it. But feels good to know I’m not the only one that has experienced this.

I discovered a small bumb on my left gland last week. Being a believer in holistic healing; I started using warm compressor (dip cotton in hot water and put on the cyst). After that i used an ear bud to put few drops of apple cider vinegar. The cysts started thrombing and became painful. At this stage I knew It was about to pop or drain. When I woke up today, there was no pain, when I checked....the cyst had shrinked. Thanks God for revealing this information to me that Doctors don't provide. This is an answered prayer. Thank you Jesus. I will continue to use the heat compressor and ACV for few more days to kill it completely.

Thank you for this video! I've had these since 16, and I'm 40 now. I've had so many I can't even count them, there was a year I had 1 every other month. I did end up having the surgery to remove the Bartholin gland. It does really feel shameful every time especially since back then I didn't have a good dr and was going where ever I could for ASAP help, and they automatically associated this with an STD but I never had one. It's very isolating, and and scary, I'm really glad you put this video out there to help younger girls realize, its ok, and they are not alone. I ended up having the surgery for a Bartholin but after 15 years, its still happening, and my OB said it actually a Labia cyst. So I didn't even get the right surgery. There needs to be more awareness about this. And our girls need to be better educated about their bodys. Thank you for sharing your story!
@tonya.vahle80 Жыл бұрын
I had a balloon catheter put in on both sides and they work wonders, ducts get blocked, so a balloon cath forms a new hole in the incision so if the duct gets clogged again, there's a hole there for drainage, no more cysts. The Gyno did my first one and the balloon was too big so I couldn't make it past 5 days but it was long enough because the hole is still there after 3 years, the left one was 7 days. Its a bit uncomfortable and can be painful but its so much better than the pain of a cyst. And 5 to 7 days is worth it. I took 3 sitz baths a day so the cath didn't cause an infection to keep it clean while in and you have to pat dry when you pee. Its worth it and studies show 98% dont get a cyst back ever.

I love your honesty. Having dealt with bartholin cysts for 10 years, now I know a few things about it. Cyst is just a symptom that tells us that our body is inflamed. It's like a low-grade fever that goes on inside our body and kills the good bacteria in our gut and private parts. So, the bad bacteria have no protective barrier to penetrate through, and they can infect our skin and flesh more easily. You have figured out one piece of the puzzle, that is turmeric supplements. The other piece of the puzzle is apple cider vinegar. When I got the cyst for the first time, I washed it with an antibacterial liquid thinking that it would go away. It turned out to be worse. That liquid killed the little strain of good bacteria that I had in my body. So, I had to rush to the clinic and get it drained. It returned within a week, making me embarrassed again. Then I did my research like crazy and found that when you use too harsh soaps and antibacterial liquids to bathe, the ph value of your gland gets disturbed, and causes these cysts. So, I treated my gland with diluted apple cider vinegar and it worked like magic. I also avoid taking antibiotics for mild fever and similar diseases because I don't want to suffer from this painful cyst again. Dietary changes also help a lot. I agree.

Thank you for sharing this story! Here’s mine: In 2013 I entered basic training for the army and HATED it so much I started looking for reasons to get out of training. One reason I used was this lump I had found down by my vagina. It had been there so long that I didn’t expect any news about it. I just didn’t want to train. We’ll come to find out, I had a bartholin cyst and in less than 30 minutes I was getting a shot down there to numb me for drainage. It HURT SO BADLY but the relief was amazing and it didn’t come back until recently (2022). It been my horrible diet and stress, I know it. This video just made me run a shallow bath so that I can soak and get relief because we are so similar, not being able to walk or sleep properly. The pain has started to affect me mentally. I had the cyst on the Bartholin gland inflamed and huge for over a month, and the last few days it was hurting a lot. Yesterday I started taking Turmeric (3 times a day) and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water, before bed. I also did a sitz bath with water and about 300 ml of apple cider vinegar for approximately 40 minutes. I massaged the cyst for 20 minutes and went to bed. This morning the cyst burst, it was a mess and it got blood all over my pants too, but it drained completely and I'm not feeling any more pain!! I will continue doing the sitz baths and taking the Turmeric and the vinegar. I'm here to say thank you for the video!! I hope it helps everyone who is suffering from this too!

On a side note, this year I consumed turmeric daily with the bone broth I drink every morning. This is odd because, I got a bartholin cyst last night but it was very small, and I only had it for 1 day. Thankfully it came to a head that same night and popped with a heat pad. Its the same area! I can't speak for other ladies, but I think get them due to irritation. So if you're wearing POLYESTER or Nylon undies that are uncomfortable rubbing against you or it irritates your nether regions, switch to cotton underwear. Let me know if that helps too.

I took Tumeric Curcumin to help with the inflammation, and i took a sitz bath for 30 minutes, the sitz bath i used contained only warm water and salt. Later that same day, the cyst ruptured and drained. I continued taking the cyst bath once a day for a week after the cyst ruptured to ensure it continued to drain. The cyst is gone fully and everything is back to normal. You can also try using Echinacea Goldseal which is a natural anti biotic that reduces inflammation. A bartholins cyst is basically when the Bartholin's gland has been inflammed.

When I tell you she started slicing at me and I felt every cut. She stopped to give me more novacaine and proceeded to slice again and I felt it again! My BP spiked, I was sweating and on the verge of tears. After she was done, I was told I was free to go and was basically pushed out the room. They are hell on earth! I had a Marsupialization 2 years ago and it just had came back Saturday night this past weekend (on my birthday gahhh). The cyst had turned to an abscess by Sunday night. I was in tears the pain was so bad, honestly unbearable. The size of a golf ball. I was too afraid to do a lot of the remedies, I didn’t want chemical burn or to make it worse. I did a lot of sitz baths and a lot of extreme hot compresses until I could see my GYN on Monday morning. Finally, Monday night it popped. Instant relief. I seriously cried in relief and slept the best sleep of my life. I’m on the mend with antibiotics and feel so much better, but now it’s just that “what if” of it always recurring. It’s so sad and frustrating. I feel for every woman who goes through this, because the pain is just so extreme and so debilitating. You literally can’t walk. The one thing I noticed was that once mine came to a head (yuck) it was on my past scar from Marsupialization. It eased me to know that I found a remedy to be able to let it naturally burst at home, but it’s worrisome because I feel like it’ll NEVER stop. Stay strong ladies, we got this! Side note: I see a fantastic male Gyno who explained why it happens. The duct gland gets clogged due to thick discharge/and or too much of it.

I’ve had this happen twice and yes, it is so painful! I ended up at the ER both times and it did end up draining on its own. Immediate relief, just like you said! But they did keep me two days each time because my white blood cell count was raised and there is then a chance of sepsis and if you get a proper dose of an effective antibiotic, the cyst might not come back. Fingers crossed! I’ve had two because the first was the right gland and then the left. I do hope that’s the end of it! Mine had gotten infected with group B strep, so yes, it is often not even std based at all. It can be and if so, treating that might fix it. Being over 40, if it comes back, I need to have a biopsy. The hospital I went to, while wonderful and caring, doesn’t have an on site OB gyn so they didn’t know that standard practice is to biopsy the mass if the patient is over 40. Just also good to keep in mind. And hot baths with epsom salt and sitz baths do help but it can be a gradual and still good to go to er if you are feeling off because the infection could cause sepsis, even if it pops and you are no longer in pain.
@Anione1112 жыл бұрын
Great advice! Tks. Did you get the biopsy? Won't the process of taking the biopsy pop it it as well? When you say your cyst drained on its own, does it pop and drain or simply shrinks?Some comment that the cyst grows bigger from sitz bath and later pops. Is that what is actually happening? Has any doctor suggested removing the gland by way of treatment? Would you consider it?

I have been getting cyst in the vaginal glands for over 20yrs. I get them both at the vaginal opening and labia. I had three of them at once when I finally went to the doctor. He drained them all in office and prescribed antibiotics. All the doctors say the glands are damaged and that is why they fill with fluid and then can abcess. As to how those glands get damaged is a compete unknown. The gyno says all of my vaginal glands are visibly abnormal even though they dont bother me. It seems to be the same glands that give me the most issues and I have realized hormones play a role in the flare ups as does tampon ussage. Things that help is benedryl cream at the first itch can sometimes prevent them from getting to the abscess point. Which makes me wonder if some type of histamine reaction might be causing inflammation and causing them to not drain like they should. Antimicrobal sprays or ointments will reduce bacteria load greatly also helping to prevent them from abcessing. If they do abcess femine anti-ich creams with benzocaine are amazing for pain reduction. This pain reduction can sometimes help you drain them yourself if they get to big.

My first was when I was 20- got infected and the size of a softballllllll!! They drained and drained and drained it probably 15 times (not even exaggerating!!) They finally took me to surgery and removed the entire gland! Now- 17 years later- aaaaand now I have a cyst the size of a large plum (started like a golf ball) but the appt I have at the gyno isn’t until December 5th and I made the appt. 2 weeks ago! So much pain and I’m to the point of tears from the frustration. I know how you feel. I hope they’ll just take this one out right away. It’s abscessed again. I’m so defeated!

Definitely going to try this. My wife gets these constantly. I honestly don't know how she copes. She's had the surgery where they insert a Word catheter instead of the marsupialization. It was definitely a lot less invasive but they came back a few months after. Talked to a good friend of the family whose a really good OB-GYN and he said what can happen is that the scar tissue from the surgery can also cause the blockage. I've always wondered why they can't just use the same method they do for ear tubes, but no one has ever given me a clear answer. I'm always told that "it's an interesting theory." and that's it. My wife honestly does the whole gammit, she even tried the PRID too and didnt seem to do anything. Definitely ordering those pills now and I'll make sure to be back for an update

Thank you so much for this! I just turned 31 and I had my first experience with one last week. I noticed it last Sunday night, it gradually got worse throughout the week and by Wednesday it was the size of a small grape and it felt like it needed to be popped... My pain level was about a 9 at that point. That night, I took advil and slept with a warm towel between my knees (side sleeper, too) I remember waking up in the middle of the night around 3 am after feeling a slight pinch and then immediate relief. and I mean immediate. I thought I had a stroke and died because the pain just wasn't there anymore. I ran to the bathroom and it was literally running down my leg, gross I know but it's our body. I took a hot shower as hot as I could stand it, I washed myself with the Yellow Dial Soap, my OB always recommends that because it's antibacterial and wont cause irritation. After that, I think I had the best night's sleep since before my daughter was born. It's Monday morning and since last Thursday morning I've been so much better, knock on wood. I'm keeping the area really clean and using Neosporin to help the skin heal and also to keep bacteria from my skin from infecting it any further. I've also been taking Tumeric since Thursday morning! I'm never going to stop taking it! Especially after seeing your video! I cannot tell you how much this, and so many other comments have helped me. Literally life saving. I have a side note: One thing I have been taking for the last 6 months is the Vital Protein collagen gummies. I only take a serving a day, BUT I wondered if that maybe caused the gland to get clogged? Hell I don't even know. I'm just glad it's gone! That was just the only thing I've really done differently lately. Anyways, sorry for the long ass post! I hope you have the best day!

I’m 23 my experience is I had bartholin cyst for 2 years it was small and harmless last week i had my period and I noticed it got bigger with no pain i ignored it, the 2nd day it got bigger and painful i couldn’t sit or walk properly plus i had fever, i even threw up because of the pain. i started doing sitz bath and used castor oil on the cyst. the 3rd day it got abnormally big i couldn’t resist the pain so i did a sitz bath with chamomile tea and after that i used castor oil on the cyst then went to sleep. i woke up around 4 am my cyst was hot and burning badly so i used cold compress on it, took a painkiller then i slept. I woke up in the morning my cyst was popped by itself and the pain was gone. whoever is reading this you’re not alone hope u get well soon.❤️❤️❤️

I’ve had them a few times. They really do hurt. But what I do when I feel one coming up, I get a bowl of warm water. As warm as I can stand, then I soak a washcloth in it and apply it for about half an hour. Just keep wetting the cloth. It usually pops the next day. Good luck ladies. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm so glad you were willing to make this video because a lot of out there can definitely benefit from it but I really think you should find some other gynecology office to go to if you haven't already. A six hour wait time when you're in pain or at all is horrendous and unacceptable for that sort of visit. Regarding bar soap, soap can through of the natural female pH. You should only clean externally down there and only use water for the inside because the female vagina is a self-cleaning system but using soap or some other product and/or fragrance internally can mess up that process. For the external part you might want to try swapping for something like the cetaphil or cerave fragrance free soap bars and/or body wash because it's similar to the soap experience without actually containing soap but still cleans and once again, other than rinsing really well with water, avoid using the products directly internally. I hope these tips help you with your vaginal health because as you stated, not all professionals inform women properly so we need to discuss these sorts of things to help others who don't know them.

Yes you are right. Doctors know little to nothing about women’s health, they don’t offer advice to ease anything like vitamins or sitz baths and they DO make things even more stressful. We have all this technology but basic women’s health is still an unknown frontier

I turned 13 in December, fast forward to January I had one, and it DOES NOT GO AWAY. I’ve had it the same time period every month in this year so far and it hurts bad. This month, I found out I got the track team, then next thing you know I have an abscess. But I used Vaseline last month and it worked wonderfully the next day, it’s like I didn’t have it. So I might try that technique but that’s why I’m here. I don’t know because it affects everything I do. I had surgery in January though but I had to wait like 2 hours and I had to sit in a wheelchair for the time being.

In Canada, just ask to see a gyno. There are two Bartholyns glands so you can get one removed. The surgeon will explain that it’s a really difficult surgery and a rough recovery because they need to leave the wound marsupial (open) so it can heal from the inside out. You will need to use a spray bottle to wash yourself properly after surgery when using the loo and can only pat, no wiping. It’s just a gland that can get blocked, it has nothing to do with being dirty or anything gross. They usually resolve themselves in a few years so most women don’t opt for the painful surgery. However, if it is hot and painful or impeding your ability to do things like walk, you need to be admitted for surgery right away. The infection can go to your blood and make you septic so get to a doc if you have those symptoms. I’m not sure what she is speaking about with regard to shame or why y’all can’t get answers. These are very common, a lot of women don’t even know they have them. Mine took more than a decade to go away but it finally did after I got the Mirena IUD. Not sure why or if it broke during that surgery. Good luck everyone.

Going through this currently, hence finding your video. I have had it a few years ago for the first time and I was suffering, like really suffering. Couldn't move, walk, sit, nothing. The pain was excruciating. I went from December to April with this pain before they did an operation. It was clear after that for a long time and now it's back 😰 Why do women have to go through sooooo much? Well I'm going to try the warm water bath more often. Can't believe the doctors were clueless and tried to give me antibiotics which clearly didn't help.

i discovered a small bump on my left gland a few days before thanksgiving. i knew it was a bartholin cyst since i had two small cysts a few years ago. the first two i didn’t have severe pain but i was uncomfortable with it and it would pop by itself. however. this one was sooooooooooooo bad. like i said, i found out i had it and tried to squeeze it to see if pus would come out, a tiny bit did but it hurted bad when i would squeeze it. i left it alone for two days. thanksgiving morning comes i woke up w a medium size bump, penny sized + i got my period which sucked. the pain was a 6 the entire day. when i would wipe it hurted so bad. + i was wearing a tight faja and i believe it made it worse. i didn’t do nothing but squeezed it some more which i don’t recommend ladies! i looked online for home treatments since i wanted to avoid going to urgent care. i find this video, read some comments and did a sitz bath (this was on black friday morning) & the bump grew the size of a nickel and was so SWOLLEN + my labia as well. i did the sitz bath for 20+ mins with hot steam water and added iodized salt since it was the only thing i had. it hurted but felt good. on saturday i did another sitz bath with salt for 30+ minutes. that’s all i did. later on the swelling went down just a lil bit but it hurted to walk, lay down, & sit. i had to drive somewhere and once i sat down i felt something popped but wasn’t sure. after i arrived to my place i went to the bathroom to clean myself and do another sitz bath and for some reason i didn’t squeeze it but kinda but pressured on the side and i saw pus come out. girl, i was so happy. i squeezed all the pus + blood came out and it went down but it’s still swollen i believe. imma do another sitz bath this entire week so all bacteria can go away and hopefully my gland will go back to normal. but i didn’t take no turmeric, or apple cider vinegar, etc. i just did hot steaming water mixed with 2 spoonfuls of iodized salt (from shoprite); two - three times for 20+ mins. oh and while i was on the sitz bath i would grab a cotton pad, dip it in the sitz water and put it on the bump, it hurted but it helped. do some home treatments before heading to urgent care, hospital or primary doctor.

Hey I gotta say thank you for making this video! I have had this cyst on my left llabia majora for a couple of years already. I know exactly what you went through during those painful times. It's like a toothache, I've grown accustomed to the discomfort and pain I feel down there every now and then. I went to a gynecologist who initially promised I would only need to do 2 tests in order to move forward with surgically removing it. After 3 failed gynecologist appointments and a medical bill that's close to almost $8000-$10000, this damn csyst feels like it's superglued to my body. I only spoke to the doctor once. Never got a detailed explanation for my CT and ultrasound scans. Let me also notate that prior to losing my job, I was told that an MRI was also needed to be performed. I can't tell you how many times I felt completely helpless and deceived by these medical doctors. It was always one test after another. Just so they could rack up on my insurance bill. Just like you said, I never had this type of issue in my life. I thought that maybe I gained weight and that could have contributed to its formation. However, there was absolutely no explanation to this except the fact that I accidentally cut myself by shaving down there and it might've gotten infected. I also got the covid vaccination, and I thought maybe that might have been the cause. Not to mention, I haven't had a normal sex life due to this cyst. Wait, did I say normal? In fact, I haven't had any intercourse since I broke up with my ex this year in March. Can't even get off any more because it's always in my way. My physical, mental and psychological state have been immensely influenced. I definitely don't mean in a positive way either. I don't have medical insurance now and truthfully, I am disgusted by the run arounds you get from wanting to set up an appt with a traditional gynecologist. I've tried removing it and there's no way I can get rid of it. I'm going to try what you did and see if that works. I am certain about one thing, though, it is something having to do with our genetics. Evidently my Grandma had it a couple of times and had to get it surgically removed. I remember you stated that you're aunt had gotten it before. Anyway, I don't know what to think about this anymore. Nowadays. There's so much on my mind... The last thing I needed was some strange bump on my private parts. At times, I feel like this is some curse. I'm 37 I've been shaving down there since I was 15. None of it makes sense. Coming back to what you said about any research done on this, you're completely right! The doctor's don't even know much about it. I guess gotta take matters into my own hands by trying different methods in getting rid of it for good.
