Oh my God, lucky you... As a dancer, I wish 🤞 I could have this opportunity... His technique is insane

Vintage! Baryshnikov was in fine form. The performance was poorly lighted and barely visible, but the Impressive impact were evident.

Thank you! What a wonderful historical document. I wonder was the class that truncated, or did he simply decide to liven it up by dancing instead of demonstrating.

I think it's a combo: obviously the tape of the class is edited, but I love how he connects the barre exercise to what it is meant to develop. Performing dramatically stimulates these earnest, polite, but perhaps scared students: it breaks the tension while at the same time gives them a perfect demonstration of how a precise barre exercise lays the foundation for something so exciting! Barishnikov spectacularly entertains & shakes them out of their fear, stimulating them to "go for it!", reminding them that the ultimate goal is performance. It's a challenge, a treat & an injection of high octane energy into an atmosphere that seems stifled. What a role model they had! I was practically leaping out of my chair just sitting at home watching this, so imagine what those dancers felt! Many thanks for this glimpse into another world, and another time.

She looked like she was really thinking it through during the early part of the pas de deux, but that is understandable.

Iba a subir este vídeo hace tiempo pero no era de mi propiedad pues tiene muchos logos al principio y al final. También tengo uno mas de un pas de deux de Sleping Beauty de 1974, creó que es el de Canadá antes de desertar

i was wondering if anyone knows the name of the Chinese ballerina in the 'Giselle' section? it sounds like 'Jong Run Liang' just going from the audio introduction. googling 'Jong Run Liang' brings up nothing so most likely i have the spelling wrong.

Her name is "钟润良" in Chinese. I tried to find a English name that can be used to find her but I failed.
